I don't believe Bernie just cares for Bernie. There is zero evidence of that. In fact, he seems to be one of the few candidates who hasn't changed his positions over the years (can you name any others?).

Sadly, I think someone like Bernie doesn't get as much accomplished and is a bit impotent politically in a system where lobbyist write bills and Congress is paid off by corporate interests (look at Bernie's donors, he truly is different in this regard). But he's just one person, he can't do much on his own. I think if he is president he will be blocked at every turn but at least we will begin to have the sorts of conversations I think we need to have as a nation. We have to start somewhere.

Funnily enough, what Bernie is able to accomplish (e.g.. The veterans bill he passed with McCain), Trump took credit for.

Tradesmen being undercut by cheaper labor is a huge problem but Trump is just as guilty at hiring undocumented workers for his hotels and restaurants as the rest of them. He's just a hypocrite about it.

As long as people want cheaper goods and services, outsourcing will happen.

To add to this, I know moral arguments are useless to some but consider how desperate someone would have to be to flee their homeland. Many illegals face extreme gang violence (at direct risk to their families). It's not only that they want a "better life", their situation is bleak and terrifying back home.

Note: i am not for unrestrained immigration. No country allows this for good reason. No country has the resources to handle it. But there are ways we can reduce illegal immigration by affecting the quality of life in Mexico and that can be done by legalizing all drugs and ending the failed drug war. The cartels and corruption are what is keeping a resource rich place like Mexico economically depressed and the US is the biggest market for their black market goods. Wipe out the cartels economically. I actually want to bring this point up to liberals too who want full gun bans as well. Illegal guns just gives the cartels yet another thing to trade on the black market. Prohibition doesn't work for conservative talking points but not liberal and vice versa. Anything that can be traded on the black market will. That's probably a whole other debate, though.

But back to healthcare, would you deny someone trauma care after a car accident if they are illegal? How about let someone die if pneumonia. I have heard the argument, "well they shouldn't have come over here..." Well, what about their kids? Kids who were not any part of that decision. It gets complicated but i would say providing healthcare to illegals is the lessor of the two evils in a non sociopathic society. Illegals do pay sales tax so it's not like they pay no taxes.

We will have to agree to disagree. Bernie should have won the primary last time, and he will play along this year just for show.

You can send a screenshot of the illegal family you have sheltered, fed, and paid for their education.
Then you can include a copy of the extra taxes you volunteered to pay. I mean we don't like hypocrites...lol

I have showed you Bernie's math doesn't work and no matter the amount of fondling Joe Biden does, you will not change the math.

Besides, the world will be over in 12 years....so Dr. Shore better hurry up! ;-)

Yeah it's not easy for some of us. At least Trump is going to save God's chosen people from their ancient enemy the Iranians, even though Iran is ancient Persia and they are the ones that freed the Jews from their captivity in Babylon and even paid for them to rebuild Jerusalem so they are actually not their ancient enemy, but their best friends and if anything owe them a historic debt of gratitude.

@FGG has very real and valid concerns which I also share but the politicians that are addressing these issues with so-called solutions are also scumbags and communists so it is a very complex situation.

Before I off myself I need to visit a nature reserve where I use to go as a young lad and relax and take solace as I prepare myself for oblivion.

Some remedies for improvement are around the corner. 20 years ago all there was alt.tinnitus.support.

I agree, hang in there!

My bathroom fan is 60 dB, and I hear my tinnitus loudly over that... so does that equate to my tinnitus being over 60 dB? Is that how people measure these things (I'm anti-measuring in general)

Look Contrast, I don't know you and I don't know the pain your going through, but before you decide to kill yourself at least try your other options first, pain medication and counseling. I know any other medical condition is a fucking burden on top of tinnitus and hyperacusis and nerve pain, but you owe it to yourself to try, because when you are gone you'll never get the chance to try again.

We don't have full blown aids capitalism. We have socialized medicine (medicare, medicaid) socialized public education, a massive welfare system, social security, etc. We are more socialized than people want to give us credit for. The people that want to take us further have stated that they are against private property ownership, massive wealth redistribution, slavery reparations, free college, limits on free speech, no gun ownership, and other crap that is absolutely Marxist.

I mostly agree, but unfortunately with tech innovations eliminating a lot of jobs we will probably need a UBI soon.

Makes no sense since high-pitched tinnitus is heard over most other sounds regardless of volume

Governments complain about statistics of people with painful diseases on disability, academia responds with things like ACT therapy for managing pain and suffering. They write a bunch of psychological jargon on pub med and cherry pick results "these boomers habituated to painful nerve damage therefore everyone can". After that people who would have gotten disability for chronic pain are told ACT and CBT are clinical options that need to be exhausted.

The ultimate goal of the CBT and ACT specialist is to mind hack the person suffering.
CBT and ACT don't cure or modify disease, they just use the power of persuasion to hypnotis the patient into relief. I find that so frustrating knowing academia cares more about managing painful diseases then the biomedical science of repairing the human body.

As long as CBT and pain killers are cheaper then biomedical sciences this will continue. Economics control the progress of medical science. Curing diseases is simply too damn expensive.

Any with pain hyperacusis ever try Mary Jane? Someone told me it alleviated some pain and I wanna try it. The hard liquor I tried recently seemed to dull it a bit.

I never drank before I got this, now I just feel like doing a bunch of shit because I'm probably gonna kill myself anyway. I mean, maybe, but that's honestly how it feels.

Well there is also frequency. They may have tinnitus at a completely different frequency than the bathroom fan. You'd still hear it.

I just woke up from a nap. Noise is brutal with no real answer for relief. Static sound worse in left than right. May be all from noise exposure. I was hoping noise was from TMJ and jaw misalignment. I'm going to try CPAP as a last resort. I read sleep apnea can cause less blood flow to the ears.

I never said what frequencie(s) my tinnitus was at, and I was speaking of measuring the loudness of my tinnitus.
Maybe Heavy has English as a second language.???

....my frequency could be right in the fan noise range, and maybe my fan is special. ;-)

So how does everyone measure the loudness of their tinnitus....because Heavy thinks mild sufferers can hear it over the shower....or a jet engine...which is silly.

My new tinnitus now....unfortunately doesn't mask most days, and some days it does...with the same frequency and the same fan...puzzling? Lol
