Panpsychism for the past four-seven years or so is being taken seriously and scrutinized by mainstream science. As it is being represented by the IIT and Orch Or models of consciousness. Two mainstream theories of consciousness are panpsychist and could allow libertarian free will. Which is good because we can see how well it holds against materialist critiques.

The materialist theories of consciousness is lame. It's basically genes tricking us into thinking we have free will and magical emergence of subjective experience that can experience everything.

AI is improving in leaps and bounds. For instance, here is a video all the way back in 2013 that shows virtual creatures learning to walk on their own, sort of the virtual equivalent of Big Dog from Boston Dynamics.



The more we crack the secrets of AI the more it demystifies the brain itself. Believe me, I'd like there to be something unknowable at the center, but I'm not so sure. If there is something there, it's probably linked to creativity. But even there, look at how much algorithms are now driving pop music or screenwriting. So much boils down to a formula. And so much of human behavior and decisionmaking actually boils down to a very small number of primal goals (aka instinct). How we try to get from point A to B may vary, but our goals remain more or less the same, and not that much more advanced than lower animals.

I'd like to think these are conclusions most people come to with age as you begin to notice patterns repeat again and again. It becomes harder and harder for people to really surprise you anymore. They slot into types or are passing through familiar phases.

I am not implying there is magic in the human brain. I am saying there must be a way for information to be sent backwards in time via quantum physics, so an animal can act with it's own agency.

Quantum physics isn't even about going back in time. It's about the uncertainty of our present reality, i.e. the quantum slit experiment. Reality "emerges" as all particles (or potential particles) interact. One of the things people have trouble understanding is the nature of observation. Observation is not a passive thing. It's vision. Vision requires an active physics reaction of photons bouncing off an object and then hitting a detection medium. So it's not really spooky at all. It's still physics. Anything that happens which constitutes time is in fact also a chemical reaction, the winding down of the universe's clock via the 2nd law of thermodynamics. If nothing ever changes then time will appear to stop. This is true of a clock as much as it is to the human mind.

Outside of the possibility of wormholes and such, the universe is a closed system. Everything in it is the same basic "stuff" as existed at the time of the big bang. Things have changed within it, but the total amount of stuff remains the same. This is why megastructures exist which provide a record of events that took place all the way back to the big bang.

So from a certain point of view, time really doesn't exist, only change which we perceive and classify as time. When you look back on memories or rummage through old momentos, these things are just as much a part of now as they ever are. They all happened and the consequences of those events remain. Any perception of aging is merely the normal process of thermodynamics. It's still the same atoms in the rusty car as the day it came out of the factory, just with oxidation and wearing. The perception of the thing being "old" is an artificial human construct. Those atoms were once in a much older rock before the car came off and was perceived as "new" and before that it was in a star, etc... Without a consciousness to remember changes, time has no meaning. You would simply have the ongoing process of change.

The more you work through these ideas the more you realize that it's human cognition and terminology that forces things into a frame rather than it being the way it really is.

The other aspect of time is time-space, that present for us is different from present many lightyears away. There is a theoretical now for them, but no way for the two of us to interact at present to compare notes. This is why what you see in the stars is looking into the past. The farther you look out the more you have to acknowledge that the "present" of what you're seeing reflects the far future rather than what you're currently seeing. As such, everyone lives within their own relative time-bubble. The concept that the universe has any single "present tense" is a human construct. It only has a present tense within an observational viewpoint. Since everyone lives on the earth then we assume that the entire universe's present is the same as ours. This is a very hard concept to grapple with considering that the universe does in fact have a fixed age.

I'd argue that the answer is irrelevant. We're stuck having to live the life we're given. Navel-gazing beyond a certain point is just another form of escapism unless you can connect it to some practical benefit.

If determinism is true, this is meaningless. The intelligent biomedical scientist working on a cure, The elite psychologist and ecommerce scammers we stand against , and we (MPP'ers.) are just scripted particle interactions. It's a meaningless interaction of scripted particle that have already made determined out comes. Consciousness is just the epi-phenomenal movie we are forced to watch subjected to external time. Also infinite universes exist to play out every possibility, ours is already pre-determined and we are here against virtually impossible odds.

That doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't feel scripted so who cares? I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow due to an insufficient brain computer so who cares? It feels like free will and always will.

You still don't understand the logical contradiction on why we are not zombies. It's not a man made definition since materialist admit consciousness has no function but illusion. I do not see a scientific reason why consciousness would not go out of it's way to give us the illusion of agency. I guess I am arguing from ignorance.

You not seeing a scientific reason and there not being a scientific reason are not at all the same thing. Not even just you; any person not seeing a scientific reason is not a proof of there not being one.

To be clear, you are certainly allowed to hold your own beliefs and conjectures. Mine is that humans are limited thinking beings; there are scientific things we will never understand. Does a dog know why it's given heartworm medicine? No, it doesn't, and no dog ever will. Doesn't mean it's not a science problem.

Science on consciousness was held back 100 years (thanks to psychologist) more studies on retrocasual phenomena, such as regulated EEG studies in which boring and emotionally provoking stimuli is presented. The goal is to look for precognitive effects 1-2 seconds before the emotional stimuli is shown. This is a way to falsify or prove backwards time effect in consciousness.

So far Dean Radin's and others studies seem legit.



it was an extreme taboo in the 20th century to research consciousness, now things are changing.

I made up my mind, I don't know shit, but Libretarian free will is almost certain to exist.

I have no fucking clue what (if anything) happens when we die. I am actually leaning towards the nothing hypothesis. There is no way of knowing if God exist, or if consciousness collapses the wave function or if the Universe is an organism. Those are deep mysteries that we cannot answer. I still think the current definition of materialism is baloney (because of free will) but I do not have proper evidence of an afterlife or reincarnation.
