You never know if people on the forums have severe or mild tinnitus. Those with mild tinnitus, that are very vocal, also seem to mention their previous affliction with anxiety or depression pre-tinnitus, quite often. Is there a correlation?
There are some with mild mental illness that a little hiss drives them nuts.

Or they mention their previous drug use to cope with life. "Pot was my life, now I can't get stoned everyday, omg how can I work at McDonald's now!?"

Wait until you have crushing arthritis, your vision fades, chronic pain... it's called getting old, you have to deal with this crap... some earlier, some later.

I had mild tinnitus years ago and I was on alt.tinnitus for one month before I said f@ck this drama. People were turning on the only doctor on the site, and he left out of frustration.

I think the real number of severe cases on this forum are very few. It is difficult to have any hope for any of these devices or meds only to be let down again. IMO,

Is there a thread for people over 25 that have larger aspirations in life than getting high, playing Fortnite, going to rock concerts, and clubbing?

Hey @Contrast just wanted to let you know your comments on my introduction post helped me through a really rough patch in my life. I'm So glad you were here. I'll miss your top tier clown world memes when your gone (really hope you reconsider tbh) and I'm glad I got to see them while creeping this thread. You're definitely good egg.

Do you know why Contrast is considering suicide if not because of hyperacusis or tinnitus?

I have mild to over mild tinnitus and since I'm probably the oldest member on here a dedicated thread for those who can relate to age and tinnitus without having to indulge in every conceivable medication sounds good. I have just been out of hospital with heart surgery and having to take meds, the tinnitus is here but mild. So you should start a thread in the General Chat category for those over the 30.

So is this MPP only for the elite? I see some statements saying you don't fit here.

Kind of the opposite of that I think. Unless you consider @threefirefour the elite. From my outsider perspective, they never really excluded anyone. It's just a community that has developed its own functioning and humor. And I totally get that they don't want everyone to stay after the JohnAdam's episode. I think it would kinda lose its charm. MPP is its own little thing and I feel it should stay that way.
