My Tinnitus Is Completely Gone

@Boy Helios hi. So you had eustechian tube problems? . Did you have ear fullness symptoms and also, did it go away?. Glad to hear you got better

yes i got ETD after hyperbaric treatment. it caused tinnitus in the good ear too.

yes the ear felt full and clogged.. like it wanted to pop but couldn't

so I know ETD can cause T.. and it goes away once the ear is unplugged

Thanks for your feedback. So the link Robert showed up above in his last post a good brand?

I understand everyone is different in regards to what works for them etc
..but I am willing try anything to get rid of that clogged up feeling. I have tried ginko in the past but it was the cheap stuff that is found in Walmart etc.. that cheap stuff didnt work for me though

yes. it wasn't that irritating and was only audible in complete silence.

it's hard to describe what that sound is. it's not really a hiss, but it's not a tone either. it's very similar to the back of TV sound u could hear as a kid

the worst T is the distinct ringing type with a clear pitch. I had that in the beginning

as it improved it turned into the 'back of the tv' sound. this was far more bearable and I didn't even notice it most of the time.

I think even before I got T, I could still hear that "back of the TV" sound in complete silence so it might be somewhat normal

the walmart stuff is fake. it's like garlic powder or something else. it's BS.

you can buy anything as long as its EGB761. this is teh german formulation sold under many diff brand names

I went to the source and got the ORIGINAL one from willmar schwabe.

yes.

I would rather get one with a lower dosage. maybe 40 mg tablets

I found that if I took too much sometimes it exacerbated the T

I would stick with 40-80mg daily

i take 40 now and it is working very well.

to be fair, I still can occasionally hear something in complete silence.. but it goes away. also under practical conditions like outside, in front of a computer, just chilling in the house during daytime i hear NOTHING.

if I cover my ears I hear NOTHING. but if it's really late at night or I'm stressed and it's very quiet, I can still hear the "behind the TV" hiss, but I think it might just be natural. they say everyone can hear T under very quiet conditions

This only proves that tinnitus can be reversible.

it's reversible if it's caused by

sudden hearing loss
Eustachian Tube Dysfunction
Airplane Ear
Earwax
Eardrum puncture

but if it's caused by ACUTE NOISE EXPOSURE it may be tougher, but I do hear if you take magnesium and gingko right after it sometimes works.

Noise exposure T is harder to deal with, but I'm confident that gingko can at least make it better if not cure it.

mmmmm yes, its easier in those cases.
but at the end its possible to eliminate the sound.
they just need to find the mechanism to stop it.

my point is that its reversible.
not like aids, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia etc

it's entirely reversible.

i had raging T from ETD.. and when my right ear popped it went away right away in that ear.

i think NOISE exposure T is also reversible but you have to experiment. What I did was try everything in the beginning.

That's what I've been thinking as well. Although, I distinctly remember the morning I woke up with it and I knew immediately something was wrong. I had never woken up with any sound whatsoever. I had gone to sleep with ringing before but not woken up with it. When my T came I wasn't doing anything the night before. The only thing different with mine was that I woke up after taking high doses of ibuprofen for ten days to alleviate the headaches that ETD was giving me...

Thanks to all of you for the info in this thread, especially @Boy Helios for the positive post.

I am celebrating the 1 month anniversary of T in my left ear. It is 24/7 and sounds like TV hissing and crickets most of the time, except for the night when it ramps up and becomes high pitched. Interestingly, the lowest and quietest is when I am drinking coffee at breakfast, but I don't drink dare drink coffee any later in the day so as not to risk losing sleep at night.

I found a store (couldn't wait to order it!) that sells the Ginkgold in 60 mg and 120 mg. I took 60 mg today and will report back if it does anything, though I'm heeding the advice to be patient and wait a while. I will add that I hate taking any sort of pill, but am pretty desperate at this point and hoping to avoid spending $6,000 on a pair of hearing aids. I've had conductive hearing loss for 10 years due having two ear bones removed, but never tinnitus until a month ago when I got an outer ear canal infection. I think that plus city noise set it off.

I've been on Tanakan (french version of the same medication) for one month (my T began may the 22th), no effect so far, but my T imigth be linked to TMJD.
13 khz hissing, like an old TV / transformer.

If you got your T from neurological reasons, I'm sorry but it is not reversible I think. Like in my case..

I'm gald some of you guys have your T from ETD or TMJD. You can at least reduce your T.

Hello,
Same question as Dominic, what do you mean by nuerological problems ? Thanks, Mita

@Beste : How long have you been off Benzodiazepines? Or are you still taking them? Why were you taking them in the first place?

Correlation does not imply causation!

Hi Gerrit
I took it 8 months 1 mg for each night and now I am almost 6 months off from clonazepam. I took it for my insomnia and GAD.

It was probably just a waste of money. Of course if I return the Ginkgo someone will post a study or a review saying how it helped. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
