Hi,
My name is Manuel and i live in Portugal.
I have T since July 2014, after someone had whistled a whistle close to my ear. It was an accident.
In the beginning did not value, but with the passage of time it would not go away. I have read TT forum since then, hoping to be able to resolve this problem. I've been to several ENT doctors, but you already know the answer.
Over the months I do not feel better. I'm afraid of losing my marriage and the relationship with my son was never the same.
Fxxx T. I was the happiest person in this world.

Hi Manuel, as I have lived with it since 2000, I can feel your pain. I wish I could tell you some kind of remedy, as I would cure everyone in a heartbeat if I could. The only advice I can give is carry earplugs with you and protect your ears all the time. The ringing WILL naturally get a little softer.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

I've had it since July as well. I lost all of my hearing In my left ear and the only plausible explanation ive been given was a virus. I think because of the loss of 50% of my hearing I developed tinnitus and hyperacusis and the tinnitus swells in environments where there is background noise

Manuel. I am from Portugal too and I have T since 1998...At the beginning is hard but you will adjust.. I don't know the level of the sound you are listening but if not too high sooner or later you will use to it like using glasses. Try to do your normal life and I am sure you will overcome it... And believe me, I know what I am talking about.. It's almost 20 years living with it.
Ps. Qualquer ajuda que eu possa dar, dispõe. Por vezes só partilhar experiências ajuda.

Don't worry about your T. It may fade being so new. But even if it stays like James or myself (since 2009), life goes on. I used to be very anxious and depressed about my ultra high pitch tinnitus as well as severe hyperacusis. But now I live a positively enjoyable and productive life. Try read up the success stories to give you some comfort and hope that people do get better. You can learn how people cope and recover from their T there. I wrote my own success story too and I am not alone. Many people do get better. Don't worry too much.
