Hi there everybody. I'm new here. 70years old & have been suffering from this infernal squealing noise for decades. Was told by a specialist a few years ago that if it's for more than a month or so it's hopeless.

I have had head injuries, don't know if there is a connection.

Hopefully here will find ways to relieve myself from this while still keeping my head on.

Hi :)

glad you are here! You been at this game for a long time, just like myself. head/neck injuries might play a role, but a Dr knows better than I do. There are lots of great and motivational people here and we will try to make your stay as good as possible.

Be well.....

Welcome to another long-time sufferer. This site has been very helpful to me so far, there are many very well-written posts. They are both very informative and hopeful.

Don't give up, there is always hope.

@Yaakov Welcome to the forum. I have had T for three months and feel optimistic when I hear other members state their T went away after 4 mos, 6 mos, 1 year, 2 years, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason as to when this T will leave, but I have to believe it will leave to give me strength.

You have lived with T for along time, and I respect that. Perhaps I am kidding myself and will be on this forum when I am 70 still with T….lol…..can't imagine what my dose of Ativan will be by then????

It would be great if you will be able to share some of your coping strategies with us. And never give up Yaakov, I still have hope and am praying for you.

I agree with others. You are a T veteran of sort. The positivity is that you are an example of T being livable if irritable at times. Head injury is a known cause for T. But we don't know enough about it as not all people with head injury develop T. Since you have had T for so long, you may want to read the most read success story on this forum, 'Back to Silence' by IWLM who has had bad T for 40 years before he discovered a simple method that works for him. Take care. God bless.
