Hello there,

I am new here and am also feeling a bit worried. I've had tinnitus for a bit over a year, until now it was only a high pitched ringing in my ears but now i can hear an helicopter sound in my left hear and still a high pitch tone in the right.

I am having a hard time with concentration and can also hear it over the tv, music and else. I am having anxiety thinking I am about to die... Any similar experiences? If so, what helps you out?

Thanks and sorry if you've seen a thousand posts like this.

Sound enrichment (to give yourself something else to listen to besides T) might help you.

You may consider staying away from moderate noises like that of a vacuum cleaner. Doing so might give your body a chance to recover, and it will reduce the probability that your T will get worse.

Check out the thread below where I summarize everything (24 tips spread over three posts) I learned about managing tinnitus after reading the posts on this forum for the past 11 months

Since onset I can't even count how many different sounds I have heard, I just let it do it's thing cause there's nothing else to do but that. You're not about to die, it's just a noise that we think is a threat, but it's not. Stop thinking about what you can hear it over and start thinking about what you would be hearing if you weren't thinking about your tinnitus.
