I glad to see you found Robert to help you cope, Piper. Hang in there. You'll start feeling better soon, I hope.

Have you tried masking sounds for sleeping? I for one can't believe it took me until yesterday to realise how relaxing it is. For me, rain sounds work.

I have an ear device but not sure I like it, This forum has been helpful just knowing your not alone. I just want to get back playing again, I miss the band but not up to it yet.

Hi my name is Avril, I have been suffering with now for 5 months, I was told to learn to live with it, but went private and had MRI scan which showed the reason, a benign tumour pushing against a nerve. Its been the most horrible time in my life, and now getting treatment for depression. This tinnitus is enough to drive people mad
Avril, my mother's been suffering from Tinnitus since 4 years. She is now comfortable with it, she hears it only during the night, when the surroundings are very quiet. You'll learn to manage well, needs more time. However, I now fear she has Acoustic Neuroma too. I'm not sure, but she has most of the symptoms that a person with AN would have. I'd like to know more about your case, do you have any hearing loss? And do you have tinnitus more in one particular ear than the other ear or does it exist in same magnitude in both ears? What did your doc advice about the tumor, are you getting it removed or are you under observation?
