New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

What device? ;) Has anyone seen the device? Is anyone participating in the clinical trial?

So far it looks like the device is in the wishes and dreams of tinnitus sufferers. If you want the device to exist, you must become a believer. Let's pray together...
Nah it exists and works; I used it, look for my posts here from ~spring 2016 when I was in the trial.

I can't modulate my tinnitus at all in any way so it appears these devices won't help me.
I don't know if that is an absolute truth. I know that it was a disqualification for the clinical study, but I thought she gave an ambiguous 'We don't know" sort of answer when talking about whether this could be used on non-somatic tinnitus.

@Lilah, I think in2being develops and manufactures the hardware as a licensee and Auricle Inc. is the client and does the sales and marketing.

There is also a link to the older Shore study on the in2being website...

Oh, I thought you were in the Minnesota University study conducted under Dr. Hubert Lim, who also worked on Lenire "success"...

It's great to know that Dr. Shore's device did work for you.

I just read the Phase 1 study. It's looking like a 7-8 point reduction from an average TFI of 27. Not particularly amazing but length of treatment is gone from 4 weeks to 6 weeks in Phase 2.
Hello everyone, long time lurker here. Just a quick question about the device if anyone from either of the trial can answer or if anyone knows. Is the device specifically individually calibrated to person, or is it that every device is the same?
Apparently the location of the electrical stimulus will depend on your particular type of somatic tinnitus. How you can modulate your tinnitus will dictate this.

If your tinnitus gets much worse when you yawn does this count as modulating your tinnitus or is that something else? I can't figure out if I can modulate or not because I try to ignore as much as possible!

It is exactly the same for me, I can only make my tinnitus worse by yawning or opening my mouth wide.

From @urgentresearch:

I have been known to lean optimistic, but from Dr. Shore's comments and seeing these prototypes and contracts already in place, I do have hope that this can move very quickly to market once it gets approval.

Looking promising. Phase 2 must have given promising initial feedback from the trial participants. Confidence is high.
If you listen to some of Dr. Shore's comments, I think it was in the ATA Podcast, back in the times before everything was pushed back by a year, she said that she hoped to push it rapidly to market when the study was completed.

I wonder in a university study like this, when can they be unblinded?

Interesting. Sorry if this has already been asked, but how would the treatment work?

Is this equipment meant for private use, or would you have to come in for treatment at licensed practices?
