My Pats are losing too many players. So many good guys are leaving. Julian Edelman... good player and a great personality... Vince Wilfork is reportedly looking to be released from his contract. Talib.. gone. Amendola's got his head on the chopping block too.

at least we got Darrelle Revis.

Haha , my cousin is a pats fan and my other is a jets fan so imagine that dynamic. But if revis is healthy which i suspect he will be 100% next year, that could be huge for the patriots. He's one of the great corners to ever play.

Huge Pats fan here myself (I have watched just about every game since 1994 when I was 11 years old). For the Patriots, more than any other team in the NFL, it's a business and they don't over-pay anyone. Look at what this strategy has gotten them the past 13 years.

For Edelman, they made him an offer for what they thought he was worth and he turned it down to test the market. They probably look at it as he has had one good year and otherwise has never been able to stay healthy. Amendola could be cut in a scenario where the add other WRs AND re-sign Edelman. Remember, we have three young WRs that won't and shouldn't be bailed on yet. Even the best receivers don't hit their stride until their 2nd or 3rd year in the league.

Wilfork hurts but makes sense, if we take off the Patriot sunglasses :p 11.6 million is alot for a 32 year old DT coming off of a achilles tendon injury and who was losing a step before the injury. DT's his age and with his wear simply don't get paid that much. They asked Vince to re-structure and he refused by asking for a release. It will stng for a bit if the do, but they can use the free cap space to sign more players.

Revis is an upgrade over Talib as far as skill. There is no way the Patriots would have paid Talib 6yr/57 mill like Denver did and shouldn't have either. The Revis signing shows more than ever that the Patriots are all-in for 2014 as Brady's window is closing faster and faster.

----

They are about 11 million under the cap with Wilfork and about 19 under without him. If they sign Brandon Browner like rumored this would be huge as he was on the other side of the field from Richard Sherman in Seattle before the 4 game suspension he will serve in 2014. This would be an ultimate buy-low with high dividends situation. I also would be all aout bringing in a veteran like Steve Smith at WR and a DE like Jared Allen.

I agree with all that. Like I said among a group of Pats Fans... understand it, but still don't like it! lol

I didn't like it when Welker left... until he became a whiney b*tch. Then he was dead to me.

I got wayyyy too excited about the Vikings winning the division on Sunday night this week but it's been a long time coming (they haven't won the division since 2009.) I don't have much faith that they'll beat the Seahawks--I went to the Seahawks-Vikings game earlier in the season and it was U-G-L-Y but that's why they play the games, I suppose.

GO VIKINGS!

We have Vikings in Austria too

Tony Hunt from the NFL Eagles played in that Team too for a short time

Sure, the NFL is much better than Austrian Football League. but it doesen't matter we love watching football here.

now, you have to go out and tell everyone you see that austria has a great football league.

Wow... A bunch of stunned fans in Minnesota right now. I thought that kick was a given.

That PIT/CIN game was dirty. Just awful. PIT coach pulling an opponent player's hair, shoving, fans throwing trash and cheering when Big Ben got hurt. And Burfict should be expelled from the NFL.

KC had a decided victory and they are up against the Pats next week. I think this will be a tough, physical game.

What are your picks for tomorrow's AFC & NFC Championship games?

I think that the Patriots will prevail over the Broncos and the Panthers will beat the Cardinals.

Probably right. It seems like the Patriots are not liked very well or is that my imagination?

You'd be correct, but it's because Pats have dominated for so long. Sour grapes. Thing about dynasties, they never last forever. And then it'll be another team to hate.
Well I would probably be a Pats fan too if I was from the Boston area. I'm a Vike's fan, but didn't get a "kick" out of their ending. I knew I may ruffle a few feathers about my Patriots comment. Maybe Brady's F words from the Green Bay game last year bothered me a bit, I don't know. With his quick release and Edelman he doesn't need to scramble. Sour grapes perhaps.

The grapes in my wine glass are anything but sour. That said, may Tom Brady soon come down with the first case of screaming anal tinnitus in history. :p

LOL... Anal tinnitus!

Just1morething, nothing's ruffled. People not in NE want better odds against the Pats. I get that. TBH, I'd rather it be closer competition.

And my brother is a Vikings fan. It's all good! ;)

@SueR ,

I had a really bad feeling when the Patriots kicker missed the extra point kick after their touchdown, early in the game. I thought that it could be a bad omen and become a factor late in the game. It sure did! If he had made that kick, then the score would have been 20 – 19 after the Patriots last touchdown. Then they would have only had to make the extra point kick in order to tie the game instead of having to go for the 2 point conversion.

That said, I don't think that anyone would have beaten the Panthers in the Super Bowl this year. Given the way that they have steamrolled over the Seahawks and Cardinals, ...I think that this is their year.

If Brady did indeed have screaming anal tinnitus that could have hurt his performance as well.;) That with the mixed extra point kick was a recipe for failure. The Panthers do look awfully good.
