Cause of Tinnitus
Fridge, computer fans and lots of annoying sounds and stress
This only happens for the right side of my nose and ear.

Does anyone experience the same and what could this mean and lead to?

My nose problems started the same time, right ear is bad, right side of the head, right nostril gets blocked. Posture maybe, or mould?

It is sound induced I'm sure. Or maaaybe it could be tense posture from sound irritation, but i don't think that's the case. It's noise induced quite clearly. Once I hear a sound that annoys my ear, at the same time the right ear and right side of the nose starts to feel clogged. Maybe it's a symptom that could lead to something more clear about what I have. At least I'm not alone in this apparently.

I just find it interesting how sound is affecting both the ear and nostril. Wondering what's causing it.

That's the million dollar question ! Eyes, ears, nose, throat it's all connected. There is a big knock on effect when something goes wrong.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem. I've always assumed it was my nose causing the problem... Looks like I was wrong.

Shaun.

That could be a somatic reaction to loud noise. A blocked noise means worse sound conduction, so maybe a somatic way your body uses to protect your ears.

Anything I could do about this specific thing? To me this has been the most annoying part about hyperacusis. Good news is that it used to be way worse so I guess little by little it has been improving. Couldn't even listen to low volume before my ear would go crazy.

Actually I would let it be. You could use corticoids in spray to unblock your knows, for instance, Avamys, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I think if your nose is blocked as a somatic reaction, this is a sign your body is working properly.

However, if there is a problem with the nose septum maybe that needs to be addressed. You need to get your nose checked by an ENT specialised in that specific part.
