I was reading somewhere that the majority of folks over 30 probably have high frequency hearing loss above 15,000 khz.

I can hear up almost to 14,000 kHz in my left ear and about 15,500 in my right ear. I'm 31. Obviously, I've done some damage listening to outrageous volumes of music for years. Interestingly, the tinnitus is in my left ear.

3 questions. At what frequency do you actually have some diagnosed hearing loss? Is my high frequency hearing about 'normal' for my age? And is it common to hear slightly different frequencies out of different ears?

Regards,

Mark

Is your tinnitus in your left ear very high pitched?

I don't really know if there's much data on average hearing for high frequencies as they are often not tested. I have wondered the same thing.
