So I was diagnosed with TMD disorder last week but I've had it for about 3 months and it's getting worse as I am now getting severe pain in my head neck and back.
But now I feel very strange when I'm walking and it feels like I'm about to fall over and digging my foot into the ground instead of taking another step ?
Can anyone help
Sometimes that strange feeling is due to labyrinthitis.
I was diagnosed with this years before the onset of my T but it was mild and very infrequent.
My GP first tested for it by standing me face against a wall with my arms straight down by my sides.
Shut your eyes and see if you start to fall over... I did.
As soon as T began, the labyrinthitis kicked in with force.
My GP (another one because by then because I'd moved to Cornwall) gave my betahistine and it made me ill - no appetite and drugged feeling (fuzzy as well as screeching head!). It didn't help at all with the labyrinthitis. I stopped taking it and felt better (although I still had the labyrinthitis) but then drugs don't agree with me and for some it may well help.
The good news is that over the last 4 years the labyrinthitis has gone back to being infrequent. When it kicks in it's far, far worse than pre-T but it isn't there all the time like it was when T first started.
I didn't find that anxiety/stress etc. affected it at all.
I'm told that if you have the associated neck/back/head pain then very careful stretching exercises can help - they put a lot of the pain down to incorrect posture.
Hope it improves for you Cillian.
