Cause of Tinnitus
Sinus infection
So I was diagnosed with TMD disorder last week but I've had it for about 3 months and it's getting worse as I am now getting severe pain in my head neck and back.

But now I feel very strange when I'm walking and it feels like I'm about to fall over and digging my foot into the ground instead of taking another step ?

Can anyone help

First guess would be emotional stress and anxiety. It makes our mind play tricks on us. Tinnitus is especially in the beginning extremely stressful and comes along with tons of unpleasant side effects due to the constant worrying, lack of sleep and fear.

You you need to be seen by a doctor for a correct diagnosis.
Their are medications you can try over the counter like Buccastem or Betahistine or Proclorperazine.
Get in to see your doctor asap. ....lots of love glynis

@Cillian i had something similar at the start for me. I felt wobbly on my feet at times (even hit the walls) and I wouldn't dare to run. My back and neck was as stiff as and quite sore for ages. Never believed it could be like that. But like @seal said it was down to my (at the time) uncontrollable stress, tiredness, flight or fight reaction and anxiety.

Just give it time. It's not permanent the wobbly feeling. I did have headaches too and electrical shooting zaps intermittently. Try and relax. Don't fight it. I know its easier said than done but be patient. You hang in there. I did and it gets better as your body and brain stops over reacting.

Seriously, doctors don't do anything. They just give you a pill for pain, a pill for depression, a pill for sleep and send you on your way. They can't do anything. It is sad to realize how archaic our medical system is in regards to the ear. They can implant a micro chip in a paralyzed individuals brain and use that to help him move again and no doctor has really good treatment for the ear, unless it is the basic infection or ear wax.

I'm praying someone comes up with treatment for this everyday it has destroyed every part of my life :(
I sincerely apologize if you take this comment wrong, but I just want to let you know that coming up with a treatment to relieve you from "hearing" the ringing in your brain will not solve any of the symptoms that have seemed to have been caused by it. Depression, anxiety, stress, unbalanced motor skills, cognitive issues. There's much more to the ringing than you may think and there's much more to the names I just typed out.

Cillian,
I know you have TMD and tinnitus.
Pain in your head and neck and problems walking can be a number of issues so best see your doctor.
It could be stress, anxiety, low or high blood pressure ,labyrinthitis, menieres,
Head cold to list a few so always get new symptoms checked over....lots of love glynis

Hi @Cillian

I certainly wouldn't discourage you from ruling out any serious cause of all these problems! That said -- being in an increased state of anxiety can absolutely make your entire body/mind feel very strange, and it seems possible (maybe even likely) that all that's going on here is that you're spiraling into an unpleasant kind of increased awareness.

The more one obsesses and over-analyses feelings and sensations, the more extreme they can become...

@linearb ya it's very strange I just assumed I got T and that would be that but all these other problems are starting to freak me out :(
It's anxiety Cillian disguising itself, you even said yourself your full of anxiety! These people commenting are very knowledgeable so take what they say and apply it,it's a vicious roller coaster and it's up to you when you get off.T causes anxiety then anxiety causes symptoms then these symptoms cause more anxiety leading to more symptoms etc etc.It doesn't end until you decide it ends by reducing your anxiety.I know I make it sound easier than it is but thats the answer to most of the problems your experiencing right now whether you realise it or not.

Hey,

I've had something I think is caused by the same thing - it's an extremely weird feeling that I'm leaning to the right all the time (mostly it's when I'm walking) it's totally bizarre. I can walk in a straight line and I'm not falling over or even actually leaning when I walk but I have this feeling that I'm leaning to the right. Also my arms and legs feel a bit kind of clumsy, like I need to think about motor control rather than just doing it automatically. It's very odd. I'm hoping it's just somehow stress related.

Sometimes that strange feeling is due to labyrinthitis.

I was diagnosed with this years before the onset of my T but it was mild and very infrequent.
My GP first tested for it by standing me face against a wall with my arms straight down by my sides.
Shut your eyes and see if you start to fall over... I did.

As soon as T began, the labyrinthitis kicked in with force.
My GP (another one because by then because I'd moved to Cornwall) gave my betahistine and it made me ill - no appetite and drugged feeling (fuzzy as well as screeching head!). It didn't help at all with the labyrinthitis. I stopped taking it and felt better (although I still had the labyrinthitis) but then drugs don't agree with me and for some it may well help.

The good news is that over the last 4 years the labyrinthitis has gone back to being infrequent. When it kicks in it's far, far worse than pre-T but it isn't there all the time like it was when T first started.

I didn't find that anxiety/stress etc. affected it at all.

I'm told that if you have the associated neck/back/head pain then very careful stretching exercises can help - they put a lot of the pain down to incorrect posture.

Hope it improves for you Cillian.

Thanks @click i have to travel 2moro for TMJ treatment but when I'm back home I'm going to see my GP :)

What TMJ treatment are you having Cillian? Is it connected with correcting your bite... evening it up? Or something else? I've been considering treatment for my TMJ as it's worse than it was before but I've had differing advice from dentists <sigh>.

Good luck with it anyway!
