Cause of Tinnitus
Excessive use of headphones maybe
Mid-2020 was when I heard a slight beep and thought it was the refrigerator making a high-pitched sound, but no. Then I realized that the sounds were coming from inside my head. I can blame the confinement of the pandemic since before I had a lifestyle away from the cell phone and headphones. I went to school and then I trained basketball in the afternoons and when I came home I did homework.

But after the confinement I spent hours in class with my headphones, and listening to music at a high volume. When I left class and I didn't have much to do so I kept using the headphones. In those headphones if you turned up the volume it was very loud and deafening (not like my current ones where if you turn up the volume it's not really that loud). I really live well, there are times when I think a lot about the sound but in the past I have had normal days.

I have mild tinnitus but I'm looking for a treatment soon or a cure in the next few years, I'm 18 (17 when I started with tinnitus).

Welcome to the forum. Yes using headphones at high volumes can lead to acoustic trauma causing tinnitus. But you are young and your tinnitus is mild. These are the positives you can count on towards either habituation or your tinnitus fading over time. Don't worry about it and move on living and pursuing your goals in life. Just avoid using headphones on loud volume or for long period. Try having fun via other ways such as outdoor, exercise, sports or hobbies. By having fun and living with purpose you will sooner or later put tinnitus out of consciousness.

Take care. God bless your recovery.

Thanks for the words, I have goals and I have a life ahead of me, in my university I have to get credits so I will soon start practicing sports again, being outdoors practically eliminates my tinnitus out of consciousness, so that will help. God bless you too.

Tell me about your tinnitus, have you already posted a thread?

Yes I have been posting here to support newer members and have written success stories. You seem to be on the right track. Once uni starts you probably have no time for tinnitus. Tell it to take a ticket and wait in line for your attention. All the best to your uni life.
