I am in severe pain from disc problems. Does anyone have reliable medical information on which drug poses less risk, hydocodone with 325 mg acetaminophen, or Tramadol?

I know Tramadol can be ototoxic and that you should stay away from Ibuprofen too. I had a herniated disk in my lower back 3 years ago so I looked up Tramadol recently just out of curiosity. I hope the pain will go away soon!

Hydrocodone seems to be pretty notorious for being ototoxic. I've definitely seen it mentioned a lot more than most other opiate pain killers.
I have not seen Tramadol mentioned nearly anywhere as much in that regard, so I would consider going with that. There might be other pain killers that might be more appropriate but it's probably something to discuss with your doctor, or researched online.
