Cause of Tinnitus
Ototoxicity and probably cumulative noise exposure
I have patulous eustachian tubes and they make my tinnitus unbearable. I constantly hear my own breath and heartbeat in my ears and PET also worsens my ear myoclonus...

I contacted my ENT and I'll see him in 5-6 weeks and we'll discuss more about possible treatments for my eustachian tubes (fat injections or surgery)...

It's a long time to wait so he also suggested estrogen pills because my eustachian tubes remain open because of significant weight loss due to other illness... And weight restoring hasn't helped with making the tubes function again...

Does anyone here who has severe tinnitus, have estrogen treatment, oral contraceptives etc? And if so, do they have any effect on tinnitus? Or, can they be ototoxic...?

I'm very paranoid about any meds... My tinnitus is so horrendous :(

@Jemina You have the correct treatments as mentioned. Your doctor will give you guidance. It can depend on how tight your PET is closed.
