I'm glad you enjoy them
I started travelling when I was 17. I saved up my money and bought myself a train ticket to France. And I never stopped going places after that.
Even last year, I managed to fit in a road trip around Scotland. I was very nervous about driving the noisy old van for hours, but with double ear protection on, I was okay. Maybe a slight spike, but nothing concerning.
And yes, Tuscany is the one! Such a beautiful part of Italy. Whereabouts did you stay when you visited? I've just booked to go to Rome at the end of October. There is a few places I need to visit for research.
Where else have you been in Europe? And what was your favourite place? One of mine is Germany. I love everything about it. I would move there, but houses are as expensive as England's.
You could still visit those places once the children are fully independent. I know lots of people who travelled later in life.
And as for travelling the US - that is my dream. I want to buy a car over there, and do a trip across the states. As a child, all I wanted was to grow up in the US. Don't get me wrong, England is beautiful, but America, wow, the country is so diverse in its landscape.
