Omg.

I love it.

Chimera Ant Arc is still one of the best goddamn things I've ever read in any manga to date.
The themes in the Chimera Ant Arc are SOO MOVING—the utilitarianism, class consciousness and the impact of identity...GUSH. Some parts of the arc are kind of drawn-out but it may be my favorite. The character development of the King and his relationship with Komugi were so touching.

Hiya Mr BS
- nice 'get-up.'
You obviously frequent the gym, with that torso.
I wouldn't wanna argue without you buddy.
Nice to see you - can't you persuade any more of your mates to 'come out' as it were?
We need some more cohorts to keep this thing going.
Cheers

Haha, I'm a lover not a fighter! Unless I catch Jastreboff at the gym, then all bets are off. With that said, i don't think i have much pull on the forum to influence that but thank you for the flattery!

GUSH indeed! HunterxHunter is so thematically heavy I honestly think it would be considered by many a masterpiece if it was in a more mainstream medium, like say a novel.

To me the arc flew by, but I think the anime paced some aspects differently - and drew out scenes that were a one and done panel in the manga (I don't usually watch anime unless it's an original series because I'm a much faster reader and I get impatient).

For anyone who's interest is peaked just be warned that the manga is DENSE. You will be rereading chapters multiple times - especially in the current dark continent arc.

It's also currently on hiatus >.> probably forever ;A;

Hiatus x Hiatus :( Togashi is basically dying  someone suggested that he just finish the manga and hire some prolific female anime artist whose name escapes me atm to do the anime. A Ufotable takeover would be welcome as well.

Alright, mask off, full-on nerd mode: engaged. This was my cosplay of my avatar, Hisoka from the (best ever) anime Hunter x Hunter. I highly encourage the watch; its writing, animation and themes are absolutely top-notch. I cut out and hand stitched almost every part of the costume, which probably took about 50 hours but it was super fun and time well-spent.

It was actually a lava flow in Hawaii but don't let facts get in the way of a good story

PS: it was incredibly hot and pitch black. I remember me and my wife jumping in to do a quick pose and then getting the hell out of there as the heat was intense.

Love the idea of this... so here goes... out of the shadows and into the light (y) One with my wife and one with my son - he's got hair
Hope you are all having as good a day as possible x

Lovely photos Kelvin, I'm so glad you see some value in this thread.
And really lovely idea to incorporate your lovely missus and your son.
Perhaps this will catch on and other members will do the same.

My own take is that it is not particularly healthy to dwell so much on research projects, Tinnitus assessments, and all of that stuff.
It smacks of 'cliff- hanging' to me.

Let's face it.
We've all got it.
We could be here in years to come attempting to garner genuine information regarding product reviews.
We know the field is littered with fake treatments and phoney gadgets.

We might as well get to know each other a little better while we wait, and share some interesting experiences.

Sorry mate - I digress.
Thanks for coming onboard,

Thanks @Jazzer .
I couldn't agree more with your comments about not dwelling to much on false hopes.
Having said that, I got some great advice from members at the outset and so this forum is useful in the 'panic' stage.
I realised after about a year it was probably for life.
Its nice to know you are not alone with this demon and feel part of a community of fellow whistlers and hissers.
As they say lets all try and "Keep it on the Island"
Love and peace to you all

Welcome @mrbrightside614 ,

Wow, you did a great job in putting that costume together!
The only anime I ever liked when I was a kid was Mazinger Z... Hahaha...
The new movie came out in 2018.

Thanx for spicing up our Photo Album with such creative pictures!
Do you still cosplay after tinnitus?

Hey, Ed!

That's a great picture although I would be too afraid to get close to that hot lava!:wacky::wideyed:

Was this before or after tinnitus?

Aw shucks, thank you!

No, I don't. This was a one-time deal. I dieted down quite a bit to try to replicate Hisoka's inhuman waistline, but it's hard to lose weight when you're already near your bodyfat limit. As a type A perfectionist, I wanted everything to be perfect and since I don't appreciate the pageantry of bodybuilding, I thought the costume would be a good reason to leverage my knowledge about diet tapering. I'm not sure I'd ever chance my ears at a big anime con.. perhaps once curative and preventative treatments hit the market I will feel more comfortable to do so.

This personality profile obviously does not serve a tinnitus sufferer well, but it's also what drives me to constantly research and organize for political lobbying. I am extremely grateful to this forum since it allows me to exercise mental talents that would otherwise be languishing away from depression and powerlessness.

PS my real life face is a few pages back.

Hahaha great that you came to the light!
Lovely pictures of you and your family.

I agree with @Jazzer that while we wait for a cure we can all get to know each other and even have a little fun while doing so. The photo album is a softer side of this group.

It was after my 2015 worsening. So it was after the point I had severe tinnitus.

Prior to 2015 I had mild tinnitus that I never thought about.

I don't mind going again. I really like this thread. Let's keep it alive :)

We actually bought that football that day. Clearly, it didn't last long.

"She is beautiful.

Cats are the finest people,
Followed by their owners,
Then the rest of humanity!"

(Don't mind me mate - I'm nuts !!)
Not at all, I love my kitties more pics of Molly. The other cat Moo is a heartbreaking story. She got sick at 2 1/2, spent 3 grand and trying to figure out what was wrong and had to be put down:(:banhappy:

Put it to you this way. When I put Moo down I cried for along time. When my Dad passed away and loved him dearly, I was not as devastated.. So who's nuts now :cat::cat::cat:

I now have pet insurance that covers up to 15 grand a year.

Playing the odds, by this description it was FIP. I'm so very sorry you lost your dear friend.

Some stuff from the fun younger days
"WOW - Concept - Time - Technique - you have it all."
Such an awful shame for everybody, with musos losing even more.
In my own chosen field of mainstream jazz there was nobody over here to really bother me.
I had a melodic concept I heard from nobody else.
But now we have to just let it go if we can.

I live with disappointment, but manage to keep cheerful and good-humoured most of the time.

I won't let this 'thing' destroy my family relationships.

Very best wishes,
Dave x

Interesting situation there Bob.

My dad was all business obsessed.
My mother seriously mentally ill.
No bonding for me, so I told my beautiful puss Timmy everything about my loneliness.
(I didn't even tell my parents when a music teacher tried sexual abuse.)
Timmy saved my life for sure.
He was all I really had.
I have a thread on Tinnitus Talk called
'More Pussycat Therapy,' where you will see my three critters.

Here is 'Timmy' from 60 years ago.......x
