As the new year unfolds, new heavy and trascendental questions, doubts and diatribes arise and take their toll off the calendar.

That's why with this rare and crescently scarce free time I've got while I'm writing this, I ask for a bit of your time to help me solve something.

Considering new frame.

Which one do you think suits better my goon shrek wack face?

Above: Rounded Ray Bans which have served me well for the past decade.

Below: Moscot Lemtosh 49. Not that I want to look like Johnny Deep, specially not the most recent look he sported in public. I just like it's thickness and the hateful nerd look they provide. They're robust af and apparently a cultural icon, which I don't give a nut about.

Well, let me know.

I like the first pair. The second ones look fine, but maybe for occasions and not everyday wear.

You look like a slightly beefed up Maynard James Keenan.

@NYCGuy, I saw the picture of you at the fireworks. Does your tinnitus get worse due to noise?
No, the fireworks didn't make my tinnitus worse. I got my tinnitus due to TMJ and neck issues. Not by noise. Noise doesn't seem to affect me but still I have good musician's earplugs and I was very far away. It was not loud at all because those were like the small types of fireworks, not the type of July 4. For those I don't go, just in case. I can modulate my tinnitus with any muscle movement. I remember I moved my jaw forward and that got my tinnitus started, I'm never going to forget that.

I got pulsatile tinnitus, then regular tinnitus in both ears, and then MEM/TTTS.

What did affect me was COVID-19. That hit me 3 weeks ago. It gave me a really loud tinnitus on my supposed good ear, and a new tone.

I would go for a different style, maybe a saddle bridge too... it's usually more comfortable. Have a look at the Oliver Peoples Brisdon or the Moscot Hitsik (maybe the arms are going to be short, though...). The Hitsik is like a rounder, better looking New Wayfarer.

The 2 glasses you showed have those "elbows" that stick out, and that makes them less sporty and maybe like a "heavier" look...

Another suggestion of style, but this is assuming you like big glasses, have a look at a Cazal metal frame. See if you like it.

Glasses are an important purchase if you are going to wear them all the time, so it is worth to shop around and try many options. And glasses need to be tried... it's impossible to have an accurate idea of how a certain model would look on you without trying it first.

Finally, if you are considering an acetate frame, a lighter frame colour will take off "weight" off thick acetate, and you will be able to see the metal core inside of the arms, which looks cool. So if you went for the Lemtosh, try to take advantage of the multiple options that model offers in terms of acetate colour, from translucent, to shades of semi translucent acetate, to black.

Another brand that looks either great or terrible is Cutler & Gross. Unfortunately, they are too much acetate for me, but on some people those glasses look awesome.

Focusing on the style in your pictures, you may also consider some of the rounder models by Oliver Peoples, like the Sheldrake, which is one of the classics...

Oh, WOW. Thanks for such a comprehensive opinion and information.

I have had a pair of Cutler and Gross much in the style of the Lemtosh. I liked them lots. I've always gone for the thick black acetate as I only wear my glasses in certain circumstances and I need them to be as sturdy as possible for the constant handling.
Only metal frame I've had were a pair of Etro (Milano) which were AWESOME. Light, slim, rounded blue metal frame. I forgot them in a cab...

I'm leaning towards the Lemtosh. I like the Guy Ritchie movies vibe of them.

None of them match your face.

Creating my own "silence" brings me comfort and new perspectives.

I often find myself being ashamed for not being "my best self"...

Maybe your best self is you, in each moment, doing the best you can with what you know and what you have...

Trusting that this is just today. Trusting that it doesn't necessarily mean you'll be here forever.
