"Street Spirit (Fade Out)"

Rows of houses, all bearing down on me
I can feel their blue hands touching me
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out

This machine will, will not communicate
These thoughts and the strain I am under
Be a world child, form a circle
Before we all go under
And fade out again and fade out again

Cracked eggs, dead birds
Scream as they fight for life
I can feel death, can see its beady eyes
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out again

Immerse your soul in love
IMMERSE YOUR SOUL IN LOVE

Although, I wasn't really a big fan of his, but back in the day, there was one song that Dave Mason did that I liked:

I have that doco but have only seen half of it, must get round to watching the rest.
You might have seen the best half. ;)

With apologies to those of a delicate disposition, I reckon just for balance this thread does need some punk rock.

"Well there is precious little
That escapes the powers that be
The eyes that judge, the words that form our meagre histories
But when your flood surrounds me
When the waters burst and come
Who knows the things that I have felt, who knows what I have done
And if I had the courage
I'd pour into your jar
All the things that I have heard you whisper in the dark
And when that jar was heavy
With your honeyed confidence
I'd put it to my lips and drink it's meaning and it's sense
It's meaning and its sense"

Yes @jimH
Neal Peart is by far the best drummer on the planet, not the fastest but the best musical drummer by a mile.

Yeah, if not the best, then I don't know who is. However, I still think that he has enough room left to add a few more cymbals...:D

I guess you guys have never seen this drummer ?

Seriously though, Gene Hoglan ( if you're not a metal head you prob haven't heard of him) is quite possibly one of the best drummers around.

Just had a look at him and he is good, but not quite enough symbols to beat Neil Peart. ;)

@Kathi ...I'm dedicating this one to you and all of the VERY cool ladies that ride their own bike...;)

Thank you Jim! That means a lot to me--I was riding when it wasn't 'cool' for women to ride! Now there are many more of us! The reason I learned is because it was boring to ride B**ch. :)

I saw Led Zeppelin in concert at Madison Square Garden. We partied so much I fell asleep during the concert and woke up to "Dazed and Confused". Haha the good old days!

I was there too!! If you think about six degrees of separation--we might know each other. :) You must've been really stoned to fall asleep :) I love Zeppelin--always will.

Yes @Kathi , Led Zeppelin are one of my favs too, I, like Robert Plant, believe Kashmir should have been more of a classic than Stairway to heaven, still love that song but unfortunately it gets thrashed too much.

Love this...

Agree. Here's another that I love...

@Kathi ...It's interesting to me that the songs that we liked so much in our youth we still enjoy so much later in life.

Maybe we're stuck in a time warp? In our day music really had heart and really rocked. Here's another...
