Cold?
:( this is just like when I took sudafed, and that stayed for a few weeks until I went in an elevator and my ear popped. I don't know what this means!
What's even more cruel is the spike makes the t go from start and stop to a constant tone. Valsalva still is able to stop but who can go on pinching their nose and pushing air?

Hope it settles soon for you and you get to sleep ok on steroids......lots of love glynis

Haven't been sleeping well at all. Can't take any antidepressants due to a recent surgery, nor did my doctor prescribe me sleeping aids. He was against the idea. He suggested melatonin, but I won't go shopping until this or next weekend. Problem with me is staying asleep not falling asleep.

Yes or fresh lavender,
It's so relaxing and the sense of smell is a great tinnitus distraction and should help you sleep

  1. Lavender acts as an antidepressant and anxiolytic agent
Recent clinical trials have found that lavender oil can be used as an effective antidepressant and anti-anxiety agent. The effectiveness of several antidepressant agents increases with concomitant administration of lavender oil capsules.

One group of antidepressant agents that is said to work synergistically with lavender oil is tricyclic antidepressants or TCAs. It was reported that the dosing requirements of these antidepressants decreased with lavender.

Some of the most common and undesirable side effects of TCA's are sedation and hypotension. Several constituents of lavender have been linked to its anti-anxiety activity. One constituent is linalyl acetate, which is said to promote relaxation.

Another constituent is linalool, which is said to inhibit the actions of an excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain, called glutamate. Lavender also regulates GABA receptors. GABA or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is the major inhibitory hormone and promotes relaxation.

2. Lavender also acts as an analgesic agent
Aside from its positive effects on GABA and inhibitory effect on glutamate, lavender also acts on the cholinergic system. The major neurotransmitter of the cholinergic pathway is acetylcholine, a chemical responsible for the "rest and digest" responses in the body or parasympathetic nervous system activation. Activation of this pathway contributes to analgesia.

So should help with sleep.

You should be able to buy lavender oil in capsules, if you live in the UK, ASDA/boots sell them.

I just said I couldn't find it at the store :/ and I don't live in the UK. Even if I bought capsules I'd get in trouble with my dad, who doesn't want me trying something like that, which was why I was looking for lavender oil.

Where in the World do you live, if you don't mind me asking?

Oh sorry...I just thought you needed something natural, which lavender oil capsules are.

"Just last November, for instance, an evidence-based study was published by the International Journal of Psychiatry in Clinical Practice.

The study found that supplementing with 80 mg capsules of lavender essential oil alleviates anxiety, sleep disturbance and depression.

Additionally, in the study there were no adverse side effects from using lavender oil to treat anxiety, insomnia and depression. Whereas we know pharmaceutical drugs like prozac have dangerous side effects.

And according to research, lavender essential oil benefits don't stop there, it has also been shown to reduce symptoms and development of Alzheimer's disease!

Last year, the journal Phytomedicine published a study which highlighted that inhaling lavender essential oil vapor for 60 minutes a day was shown to prevent brain oxidative stress in rats with dementia."
