Yes, ear fullness normally takes over 6 months to completely resolve. The muffled hearing is rather unsettling but it does clear up in time.

Well Bill I really hope it didn't do permanent damage. I mean it almost feels worse and my tinnitus seems a bit worse. Thing is, she was extremely careful and even used an instrument that wasn't used when I had it done a long time ago. They now put a cone shaped instrument inside your ear to get the exact positioning of where to use the suction thing. I stopped her soon into the procedure.Yes, ear fullness normally takes over 6 months to completely resolve.
It kind of does feel more dull. But id be surprised if there's damage really. It was such a short amount of time with everything considered above. Overall I'd say it does feel worse. The hearing itself I'd say doesn't seem much worse but... who knows! Just seems too unlikely I mean I think if I'd let it go on for minutes... then there'd me issues.Well Bill I really hope it didn't do permanent damage. It had only been maybe 10-12 seconds, where there was a 20 second break between each 3-5 seconds after a bit of wax was out. I just can't see the noise levels reaching as high as has been mentioned because I wasn't in any pain at any point thankfully. There were some loud pops but they didn't hurt they were uncomfortable.
Glad I stopped where I did but I can tell you for was extra careful after I explained my deep concern. I hope no damage was done but it almost seems more muffled. The chances should be low.
Well Glynis I just hope it's not damage. I assume you think it's unlikely but you didn't really say. I'm really freaking out. Good thing it was 10 seconds and not minutes.@JoshuaD2002 ,
Microsuction should help, you could still have crusted wax on your drum so keep putting drops in and it will come out.
It will more likely be mucus in tubes.
See your doctor and stop panicking.
love glynis

I'm scared the suction did damage because things seem potentially more distorted. This could be because there was an attempt to remove manually but I don't know.
When T gets worse, You KNOW that it is worse. It is normal for T to fluctuate and when it does, on some days it "seems" worse, but of course there is no need to worry about it.I mean it almost feels worse and my tinnitus seems a bit worse.
Well Bill I'm super scared that perm damage was done. Many ive asked think it's unlikely I hope you agree ;(When T gets worse, You KNOW that it is worse. It is normal for T to fluctuate and when it does, on some days it "seems" worse, but of course there is no need to worry about it.
I hate to say it (as I had been involved in multiple arguments where the idea of T being caused by stress was discussed), but in your particular case it would seem that it is possible that your T is worse as a result of you being stressed out. For now, try to do something about your stress levels. You will know whether real damage had been done, only after some time passes. To be honest I think the tinnitus is worse. It got worse this afternoon weirdly straight after eating crunchy cereal. Of course my mind thinks that yesterdays suction did it. But in my opinion if the suction had done harm the effects would be quickly noticeable.

Thing is Bill, microsuction is replacing all other methods in local surgeries. It's become so so common now. Seems unlikely to be harmful after 10 seconds otherwise they just wouldn't implement it.
I don't know but my tinnitus got louder this afternoonIs there a system setup for doctors to report when a patient claims tinnitus is caused/worsened by microsuction? Or is it simply dismissed by the doctor in the small percentage of patients where this occurs?
Plus keep in mind that ears can be more susceptible to trauma once damaged. Although it's unlikely that only 10 seconds total of suctioning, with breaks in between, caused any damage.
Of course the chance of getting heard is much, much lower than 50%. My uneducated guess is that it has got to be under 5%.Well Bill would you agree that permanent damage as a result of this very common procedure is more unlikely than likely?
Especially in my case where there was no clarinetting and for a short period. Well I'm probably another victim because my hearing is still bad and my tinnitus did actually get louder this afternoon! But wow 10 seconds of successful micro suction should not have done something seriously it shouldn't.Of course the chance of getting heard is much, much lower than 50%. Even double the time shouldn't be an issue when it normally takes minutes @TuneOut. The proffession itself is moving towards microsuction as the primary method. They simply wouldn't do it if they thought it was as dangerous as some people here are making it out to bePlease don't underestimate the negative effects that stress and anxiety can have on the body. My suggestion is to try to forget about the suctioning. Move past it. I doubt that such a very limited exposure hurt you, anyway. Just try to relax and take things easy.
It is dangerous only for people whose ears had been compromised (e.g., T sufferers). For the majority of people it is safe. They simply wouldn't do it if they thought it was as dangerous as some people here are making it out to be
You are the one who is experiencing problems following having a microsuction procedure. You are one of the people whose experiences lead me to believe that microsuction is not for people like us.They simply wouldn't do it if they thought it was as dangerous as some people here are making it out to be
Well Bill all I want to ask is if you agree with me in saying that this microsuction should not done damage, and that the fact that my ear is still muffled and feels full should not be due to this short microsuction- which caused me no pain.It is dangerous only for people whose ears had been compromised (e.g., T sufferers). Ok my tinnitus is quite bad now. Need some serious support. Will it go down? It's quite bad. I would be surprised if the short microsuction had anything to do with it considering it loudens 24 hours later. Oh dear it's quite bad.
I'm really scared. It's quite loud right now. I'm thinking back. Yes there were times during the suction where's it sounded a little squealy, ("clarinetting"), but It was not painfully loud.I honestly believe that it's a spike that will go back down. I say this from a lot of experience. One thing you could do to even it out psychologically, is to use this experience to benefit you in the future. The next time there is a loud situation, protect your ears or avoid it entirely. Again, though, I believe that your spike will go down. Be sure to get the rest of the wax out of your ears (see my above posts for advice.)
In my personal experience, all it takes to cause T is a Fraction of a Second. The sound that had caused my acoustic trauma 18 months ago, lasted only fraction of a second. (It might also be the case that my T got caused by me performing Valsalva Maneuver to relieve the resulting ear fullness, it is impossible to tell...)Well Bill all I want to ask is if you agree with me in saying that this microsuction should not done damage, and that the fact that my ear is still muffled and feels full should not be due to this short microsuction- which caused me no pain.
Even if the cause is microsuction, you won't know for a while whether this spike is permanent or temporary. Your exposure time was very short, so hopefully it was not enough to do enough damage to make this T permanent...Ok my tinnitus is quite bad now.
