After 215 days with this , my head seems to go into these modes.

1. A sound across the top of my brain, which is not annoying and I can cope with Life quite fine if it would stick to this sound

2. A broken sound that comes into my left ear and runs across the back of my head, very hard to describe, however, it is like a black and silver uneven sound

3. Hissing through my left ear across the back of my head

4. Hissing through the top of my brain through my ears

5. The other sound I wake up with is electricity throght the back of my skull which is annoying

6. The worst sound I experience is usually at 3am, which feels like having a thousand insect sounds going through my brain. It's as if the insect sounds have penetrated my left ear and resonate through my brain.

7. A Ping from my left ear to my right, running straight through my brain which seems to be consistent on most days.

The volume varies from 1 – 5. The most difficult part about the overall situation is I have no control over what it will do each day.

I think one of the most difficult things to deal with at this point, is trying to understand how all of this is possible.

Is there anyone else out there that experiences similar things??

After 7 months, I still have no comprehension or idea on how to deal with this.

If the volume of your tinnitus varies perhaps this is a good sign, since maybe yours will get quieter in the future.

Give it some time and see what happens, meanwhile try not to let it disrupt your life too much.

Thanks for your Input James.

Its quite funny that until something like this happens to me , I had no comprehension on what real stress or depression was. I am not very good at multi tasking so speaking to people while hearing weird sounds through your brain is a difficult thing to do.

Have you ever had a head injury?

In youth? Adulthood? From a bicycle accident; from a skiing accident; from a football accident?

This was caused from 2x Long Flights with Infected Ears. My ears were infected for 3 months after the flights and would not get better, it all stemmed from that.

Never had any head injuries in my life

Had an MRI , Came back all clear / Been to a ENT (Ear Nose & Throat Specialist) he found no issues

The only bad choice that I made was having a treatment called 'Scenar' - The Neurologist said it has put my brain in a state of Trauma.

I am 53 Years of Age, and have no history of mental illness

Well that's where habituation comes in. You say it's hard to talk to people while hearing tinnitus, but remember high school and the cafeteria? It was really loud in there, yet, no one cared and everyone talked to each other fine, because they didn't see the noise as a threat.

Wow...amazing description. A lot of this sounds like mine. Sorry don't know what to say to help. I'm in the same boat, struggling bad.

Wish I had one solid tone to deal with, even if it was loud and high pitched.

Hi Pete

Sorry to hear about that, it sounds horrible. Do you ever experience balance issues? Or vertigo attacks?

No balance issues, however, a side effect from the Scenar treatment has effected my eye sight as well i believe.
Scenar was one of the first things that turned up on google when I was looking for a cure in the early stages.

Looked like snake-oil but they guy seemed pretty genuine and was renting them out for £70 a month. Considering the ipod from the Harley Street Clininc was over £5000 it seemed he was actually trying to help. Didn't do it in the end - it runs electrical current through your ear right?

@Pete01 If you read my posts you will see my history. It usually takes me 12-18 months to habituate. I'm not saying it is easy but it can be done. I stay alive with the help of medications. I function at a good level. It isn't easy but time is your allied.

Hi Peter, have a read of some of my Posts, my treatment is working very well, with my audionotch treatment its 2 steps forward and one back, every week. But its progressing well and Im having days where my T is undetectable.

My T also started due to infected ears and or Assault. It is much better now. I don't hear it when I'm outside, Only in quite rooms and when I have headphones on which I dont use that often anyways.
