I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but one of our members, @MikeP505 passed away peacefully last month. Mike was 53 years old.

I have just been made aware of the news.

Personally, I can say that Mike had a very charming, friendly and compassionate personality. He knew how to make people laugh. In the face of adversities, he still was able to look forward to the future and have a positive attitude.

No doubt about it, he will be dearly missed by both his family and friends as well as by the Tinnitus Talk community, which I would like to think is one kind of a family too.

My deepest condolences go out to everyone who knew Michael.

@MikeP505 was always full of positivity and encouragement for everyone even though his own life story, particularly the latter part, was full of challenges.

He was looking forward to getting a cochlear implant even if it took two years. He had hope. He wanted to live.

My ears hurt but not as much as my heart does right now.

This is so sad...we pm'd alot and he went through a lot having hospital treatment....
Thank you For letting us know @Markku.... will miss him
Lots of love glynis

Aaaawww so sad to learn it
He was such a strong guy and his joyful mood was precious to the forum. May he rest in peace.

Do you know exactly from what, was he ill?

How did you learn about his passing? When did he pass away? He was online not too long ago.

"MikeP505 was last seen: Feb 8, 2017"

I had no idea he was seriously ill. I am relatively new member of these forums. He seemed like a nice guy! I have seen a couple of his posts in the forums, and he was always positive and supportive. His apple red bike in the avatar always caught my attention! His passing is a major loss for this community. I think we can all find some inspiration in him. I think it's safe to say that he has indebted us all to be more supportive, and to keep on pushing forward, not giving up hope, and not giving in to the likes of tinnitus.

My condolences go out to his family and all those who knew him! I hope his soul has finally found eternal peace and silence.

Good night @MikeP505 and God Bless.... love from your friends from Tinnitus Talk xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh no... I was wondering why he hasn't replied to my pm's as of late... Fuck sakes, rest in silence, Mike. I thought his treatments were going really well. We haven't even won that lottery jackpot yet. How heart breaking.

He just started to get better.
I have seen this a few times with people that I knew that have passed on. When the time is near, the body makes a last push and this often results in the person looking and starting to feel better. Then suddenly, they go down and don't recover.

The last post he made he mentioned his platelets were low and he felt weak.
It does sound like it was the chemo side effects and not the cancer itself that took his life.

Markku,

Thank you for letting us know about Mike's passing. I am so sorry to hear about this, and I hope that he has now found peace. Love and blessings to his family from the Tinnitus Talk community.

Absolutely tragic news. Mike was an awesome guy and will be remembered on here for all his compassion and wisdom. My thoughts go out to his friends and family.

RIP mike.
