Has anyone else noticed this? Ion channel modification comes up again, but I couldn't find any reference to it from these guys after a quick forum search.

These are glutamate channels, specifically AMPA and kainate receptors, which are much more abundant in the brains of tinnitus patients. It looks like they've done in vivo testing (in the body) with animals, and it seems they're now filing for human trials.

Topiramate also acts on these receptors, though not as effectively.
