Severe Hyperacusis

I can not afford long term hell I want to cold turkey to end the hell as soon as possible.
1.5mg diazepam I think is a dose that I can cope cold turkey.

@1MW please dont cold turkey yet. what is your current minimum dose that you can to feel good? I understand that 1.5mg put you in the hell.

with 5mg all symptoms gone (T & H)
iam ok with 2.5mg with some insomnia
with 1mg i think i can live but i don't know how much (i have severe insomnia sleep every 2nd day).
yesterday i got 1mg and today 0.8mg

I also have insomnia few days if benzo reducing or stopping after short using.

You reducing quickly, you may put your body in shock, if you starting feel shiver its very very bad signal.

5mg diazepam equal to ~1mg lorazepam. So I'l also try 2.5mg and than 5mg diazepam instead of 0.5mg and 1mg lorazepam to see if it will also reduce my T&H to 0-1/10.

I have taken 1mg diazepam but I'm in constant alert mode.
0 hours sleep. I will die in the next 2 days.

Dude you're not going to die. 6 months later and I can ALMOST hear a plastic bag without my nervous system going into shock...but it's better than 6 months ago that I can say. Hang in there.

Be prepared for some hell getting off benzos, no matter how the taper, it can still get ugly. Try and surrender to the suckage and think in terms of months not days for the recovery...it will get better as your body re-adapts.

Time heals all wounds!

I'm still alive but I made a promise to myself that if I get out of benzos I will never get these evil pills.

These pills are far more worse than anything exist in the world, they are pure hell.

The withdrawal from benzos is far more difficult than death.

Yesterday I had 10/10 suicide tinnitus & hyperacusis .
I had tinnitus in multiple frequencies & very loud.
Yesterday had lost all my hopes and I was near suicide.

Today my tinnitus is 0.
I don't know what happens to me.It is not logical 1 day to have severe tinnitus and the other 0.

The only difference is that I got sleep yesterday drinking 1 cup herbal tea

It's a local herbal mix tea valerian/lemon balm/chamomile/common lime

Maybe I have multiple sclerosis because I had 2 times mild sudden hearing loss with tinnitus and followed by hyperacusis that the hearing came back with corticosteroids.

Also I feel a strange sensation in my feet (strange vibration) and I have frequent urination.

These symptoms are typical in multiple sclerosis but also benzo withdrawal can cause these.

I have done 3 MRIs & 1 MRA with 1.5T machine all clear no sign for lesion.

I don't know I think 55% is from multiple sclerosis, 45% from benzo withdrawal.

Have you had a spinal MRI? MS lesions do not always appear on the brain. In some cases they only appear on the spine.

No spinal MRI NO, only brain.
Maybe I had sudden hearing loss from virus and that virus caused my symptoms (herpes).
In my case corticosteroids solved temporarily the problem also regained my hearing with corticosteroids.

How did you deal with the MRI with severe hyperacusis?

I actually had a head and neck MRI 8 or so years ago and they found a single white lesion on my brain, I was told by the neurologist that they didn't think it was MS. I was supposed to have a followup MRI, but never did. Now with Hyperacusis I don't think I want to.

with very good earmuffs + corticosteroids (cures/improves temporarily my hyperacusis)
mine MRIs/MRA are clean/good by 1.5T machine, I don't know if they are clean with 3T machine.

Do you have other neurological symptoms other than hyperacusis?

I had some symptoms that prompted the initial MRI. I haven't had those in a long time. I had episodes where I felt like I was stoned and whole body was underwater or slightly numbed.

Lately I've been having forgetfulness / brain fog, but that could be due to a lot of different things.

Do you have response to corticosteroids?
Your tinnitus & hyperacusis improve with corticosteroids?

Not much of a response to oral corticosteroids. Some times I feel like they ramp it up a little then make it better after, but it's nothing pronounced.

My other ear started to ring, low frequency, very loud.
Corticosteroids don't work.
I will end my life I can't cope with this low frequncy tinnitus.

I have Severe Hyperacusis on my right ear. I am not sure if its because of the caloric test or TMJ. I never had it before January.

I have gotten pure nicotine poison to end all.
Now I can not sleep, my tinnitus exploded and my hearing is worsening everyday.
