As a kid I had a great time during Halloween and Thanksgiving but nothing beats Christmas. My family was religious when I was young but life got harder and more toxic situations took hold in me and my family's life pulling my family apart and away from faith. But never the less I love Christmas and the memories it holds.

Forget the gifts. I think the best memories for me was when I was around 8 and watching Hallmark Christmas movies with my grandparents and Mom. With a small glass of eggnog. And the jolly times when me and my grandparents played the stereotypical Christmas songs and just danced and sang.

This was all many years ago, but I can't help the nostalgia. Even though many of those people have passed away I can't forget the marks of love they left in the little child heart of mine.

I remember watching Spongebob Squarepants as a kid. My mom would drag us out to go shopping as we were young and couldn't be left alone and to be fair it's quite boring to be dragged around. When we got home late we would gladly watch it.

And then I went to listen to rock musics when I was around 14 years old and then started to listen to some great Jazz tunes when I got to high school. That was some happy moments.

Reading of Crime and Punishment was also very enjoyable, the more so because I was in a difficult time. I also discovered Horace Silver, the jazz pianist whose works just suited my tastes.

Only if I can play games more I would be slightly feel better. That's why I'm saving up for my new computer.

One of my favorite memories from childhood relates to a time when I lay back in the grass just gazing lazily upwards. he sky was clear. sun was high(no I didn't look at the sun )and there was a gentle breeze that caressed the blades of grass. I could clearly hear the sounds of nature and felt so totally at peace with the world.

Oh and another one that just popped up, not sure whether I really did this or dreamed it. but I clearly recall sitting on a bench in the garden in the dead of night feeling the cool breeze, listening to the silence, and being bathed in the silvery light of the moon as the light poked its way through breaks in the clouds.

There you go, two memories for the price of one. what a bargain. lol

Going down to my step-son's daughters 6th birthday party. Listening to her go on about her 'other' party, with 15 friends at a trampoline park - with cake - and watching her poor mum's face. Giving her her present and watching her face when her Dad pretended she couldn't open it a day early - then decided she could. Then sitting on the floor playing with Sylvanian Families Hospital and the gender challenged male doctor bear that I put a dress on. No way is she ever going to think only men can be doctors - even bears. Watching my husband chill out and have a laugh with his son. Our dog playing football with everyone in the garden and although she burst 3 balls the kids doing the 'Dad can we get a...' and my stepson rolling his eyes. My stepson made me feel like a welcomed member of the family, after being married to his Dad for 17+ years. It was such a brilliant day I forgot about my sore ear.

Next day the sore ear started ringing.

It's like I was given one last brilliant piece of fantastic and then my life went pear-shaped, with everything that has happened since.

Happy memories, everything Pre Tinnitus!

Christmas morning with my parents. Watching Star Trek The Next Generation every Wednesday after school with my frozen dinner and home theater turned up. And taking leisurely strolls thru Disneyland at 1:30 in the morning with no one around with home made hot chocolate in hand.
