I just wanted to post about something that is helpful for me and may be for others. I purchased a cheapo MP3 player with an external speaker (so no earbuds needed) that I use as a tinnitus "masker." I've put a variety of natural, etc sounds on it (some up to 10 hrs long) and use it sometimes during day and night, depending on circumstances (good for when you may not want to use smartphone). It's like my cheap version of in-ear maskers (for now.)

During the day if I need additional sound, I'll tuck it under my bra strap for my tinnitus ear, but have even thought about taping it to my skin. Sometimes I just rest it on my shoulder while watching shows to further distract from the tinnitus.

At night, in addition to a sound machine and Noisli sound mix I play, sometimes I'll rest the MP3 player near my ear or put it under the pillow as a pillow speaker (which works really well.)

So it's pretty versatile and helpful at times. Just thought I'd share this with you all...

Oh, this is the one I bought on Amazon, but there are certainly others to choose from:

(looks like that one is now unavailable)

Thank you for posting this! I feel like with technology now, there are so many options for white noise and sound enrichment.

I have my phone loaded with apps recommended by audiologists, and I like being able to pick what I want to listen to rather than be stuck picking from just a few options.

I purchased a few simple, small bluetooth speakers and spread them throughout my house, too. They're small enough that I even brought one on vacation to use at night.

I've been wondering if there's a good option for a bluetooth earbud, specially something I can hang over my ear rather than insert.

Ha, I love Amazon. I just searched and found earbuds exactly like I was looking for! Free apps, phone I already had, and earbuds for a reasonable price -- seems like a very affordable way to make ear maskers.

Yeah, I second that about amazon, and there are a lot of creative ways of doing things.
