OK.Hey John, can you test how many frequencies you can hear between 10 kHz and 20 kHz? That may be an interesting thing to follow as time goes by. Just be sure not to have it on loud.
Also, try listening to high frequency violin music, and repeat the same scores every week.
My tinnitus in my right ear is now only noticeable with earplugs in. And even then it's hardly there. I used to hear it in both ears when laying my head on my pillow and now I can't really hear it in my right ear at all when it is against the pillow, only left. Overall, the tinnitus sound is now on the left side.
My left ear tinnitus has also changed in the last three days. It now sometimes turns into this non intrusive hiss that sounds like a cassette tape sound like when they are between songs and it's silent but there is a tiny hiss there just enough for you to know it is on. That is exactly what it sounds like and this is a new sound I've never heard before. I've also had a very small touch of fluctuating hyperacusis. I already mentioned my fleeting tinnitus has noticeably shorted in duration when it happens. Something is definitely happening and I'm not getting worse.
I listened to this Judas Priest concert that I found last December and I felt like I could hear components of the guitar tones that I could never hear before and overall music is starting to sound clearer than it has since I initially damaged my hearing.
How are you going to model your ass with a face like that? jk You look kinda like Geraldo Rivera. It is. Damn, you noticed my avatar.
Yeah he is, was just joking. I was going to say that a skilled plastic surgeon could work on his ass as well as his face, but it was just intended to be a joke is all. My ass is cracked so I couldn't be a model. My face not much better.another sean is a handsome dude. No hetero.
I getchu, fam. Also, Columbo was one bad dude. I loved that show.Yeah he is, was just joking. Yes. I had it before. Probably 50% of the time I've had tinnitus.Did you have any hyperacusis pre-PRP or is this something new?
I still have a long way to go. I got home last night after work and my kid was screaming and threw a toy on the kitchen floor and now I'm having a spike.@JohnAdams
Every time I hear of someone getting better from this torture of tinnitus it's a joy to me!
Good for you John!
That means there's hope.
Once
Sorry to hear that. My noise is very bad today (as well as my humor). I always seem to grab some pills and "eat" themI still have a long way to go. I got home last night after work and my kid was screaming and threw a toy on the kitchen floor and now I'm having a spike.
Yeah. Me too. My life and the welfare of my family depend on it.I hope this goes well for you! I hope you heal and everything carries on fine!
You can try electrophoresis with Lydase (Hyaluronidase) in your ear canals to try to resolve this issue.worth mentioning (maybe) that my scarred eardrum has been suggested to perhaps be a contributing factor to my tinnitus, since scar tissue doesn't vibrate as well as healthy eardrum membrane

Apparently it causes some small degree of conductive hearing loss. How can a scarred eardrum contribute to Tinnitus? I don't understand the mechanics behind it.
I think PRP has great healing properties. I also think that there aren't any scars on my eardrum from my procedure, but I will find out eventually.Apparently it causes some small degree of conductive hearing loss.
I have a notch at 14 kHz in that ear. Whether that's from the scar, the infection that caused the scar, or other issues (noise, drugs) I have no idea, just repeating what an ENT told me.

I fully agree.I would imagine not, given good medical practices, but I understand why other people contemplating this might want to be real sure about that.
It was fine. I wore foam earplugs the entire time. I slept like a baby for a good 8 hours. No popping or leaking in my eardrum. Everything was fine. How did you hold up on the flight home, as this is an issue for me living so far from home, i.e, Laos to Boston, MA. What did you do? I found the pressure overwhelming and really hurt me, how about you?
One thing I thought was weird is that at Incheon airport I bought a neck pillow and they made me show my passport to buy it.Sweet, you slept... amazing. I'll use foam plugs next time.
on the way back there was an empty seat right next to me and I had a window seat.A little weird, but security is super tight now. I guess you flew economy, thus the pillow. Wish you could have flown business bro, you deserved that. The 14 hour flight is mind boggling. Not such a big planet, and seeing all of those cities one becomes acutely aware of our demand on earth"s resources, at least that's something I noticed. My mom just met me in Bangkok which is like a city from Blade Runner. Really futuristic and toxic.
Thanks for the updates, little kids are noisy, it will get better. My oldest, who is nearly ten, asked me how my tinnitus was today. What a nice kid, I told him it's there but I'm here for you buddy, it's ok.
I hope yours gets better, I hope mine gets better, I hope everyone's gets better.
Madman and hero thanks for giving your body to science, you'll be spoken of in history books after the great tinnitus research war is over.
