Hello everyone!

I've decided to start a Star Wars thread for all things Star Wars! Are you a current Star Wars fan? Interested in starting to watch it? Have watched it but are interested in getting into it more?

With the upcoming Episode 9: Rise of Skywalker movie, the final installment of the Skywalker saga, which started over 40 years ago in 1977, I think it would be a great idea to talk Star Wars! Personally I've been a huge fan all my life, even since childhood, including reading the books, comics, video games, animated series, pretty much everything that is Star Wars.

In case anyone wants to talk about leaks / spoilers, please add a ***Spoiler Alert*** to your comments, to not ruin it for those who want to learn it all for the first time on the big screen.

So let's hear it! Is anyone excited for Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker releasing December 20, 2019? Are you excited for the any of the spin offs like The Mandalorian? Excited for the return for the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars?

I am excited for everything outside of Clone Wars. Never been a fan of their animation style.
I was hesitant to watch it because of the animation style looking so ridiculous at first too, but I watched it anyways and am so thankful I did. If you ask me, it is the best tv series I have ever seen! Even better than the first 7 seasons of Game of Thrones. I really recommend it if you're a star wars fan.

The original Star Wars is cool, but everything else except Rogue One (best new Star Wars movie hands down) SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

I loved the origial trilogy when I was a kid. I don't know how many times I watched those movies but it was a LOT. I was not a big fan of the prequels (they are just ok imho). I loved the Force Awakens and liked Rogue One, but I didn't really like the Last Jedi and Solo that much. I am still looking forward to Episode 9 though.

Big Star Wars fan here. Love the original trilogy and even the prequels (yes including Phantom Menace) as I was born in '96 and grew up with them. Have also played many of the games.

Have to say I'm not enamored with the newer movies. Force Awakens was fine, a little too similar to A New Hope though. Rogue One and Solo were pretty fun except I was pretty against them recasting Han. The Last Jedi fell completely flat for me. Movie was too long and dragged out with many thin plots, useless characters, and overall poor character decisions imo. That being said I am optimistic that The Rise of Skywalker will bring the new trilogy to a decent end. Psyched that they're bringing back THE SENATE.

I agree these new ones, with the exception of Rogue One, have been pretty bad.

I just can't get over the fact the first order couldn't catch up to the resistance ship and instead had to chase right behind it Tom and Jerry style, even though they had all these other ships that were probably faster and could just do a small jump to ambush them!

I actually liked the prequels. I'm from the early 90s so that's my childhood.. I was the phantom menace's target audience! I still don't like Jar Jar much though

I am one of the fans that enjoys all the movies. Sometimes I think we are very critical of the new movies and forget how to enjoy them. We forget how to be kids again :(

Even as a kid I was pretty critical of some movies.. that whole pointless chase and casino scene were just such a waste of trilogy screentime! I would've loved to see more real Carrie Fisher time and her being an awesome leader..

**Spoiler**

I though that the "Force Awakens" marketing was very misleading: They focused a lot on the "Old" heroes, and they didn't even get a scene together (Don't get me wrong, it's a fun movie, I liked it, but I think they relied to much on the old saga and actors during the marketing campaign and I get why some people were pissed off when they figured they were mislead).
Rogue One: The Vader scene did it for me. I thought it was a descent movie, but I would pay double just to watch Vader walking a corridor and killing everyone for two hours.
Solo: I didn't like it. Bad story, bad character development, bad everything.
Last Jedi: is the one that lost me. If you take your kids, they're supposed to learn to obey commands without a word (Poe), not sacrifice for a greater good (Fin) or that old people are bums (Luke), Kylo Ren still is a cry baby.

I don't know, Maybe I'm too old for this s##t, but I'm more excited about the Mandalorian TV series than the movies. I think I'll just wait for the new movies to come to streaming.

I didn't read any books, played the videos games or anything else, but my wife walked the aisle to the sound of the Imperial March, so I guess if I ever have kids they'll be called "Han Solo Junior" or something like that. ;)

Funny enough I heard that one of the original pitches for Rogue One was an Alien-style thriller where Vader would hunt down all of the people on the Rogue One ship throughout the movie and slaughter them. Unsurprisingly that idea got shot down by Disney

Well, now that they also own the Alien Franchise, we could have a Crossover.

Vader Vs. Alien.

But since this is Disney the Frozen princess would show up at the end and conquer them using the power of love. ;)

Coincidentally (or is it the Force?) I just saw this and it's genius: :D

That was a good analysis! In Disney's defense there actually were some pretty toxic people that didn't like the fact that there was so much diversity in the films, rather than disliking them for just being bad movies

I am loyal to Star Wars.
I have watched them since I was a kid and my kids dig them too.
I am also loyal to FX-322 and other small molecule and regenerative therapies.
May the force be with the nerds in Massachusetts.

I greatly appreciate John Williams' score for each episode, Star Wars wouldn't be Star Wars without his work.
I completley agree. I'm so happy I got to see him conducting them live before I got thia damn tinnitus. I'm still gonna see him again, this Friday actually, but this ringing is probably gonna ruin all the quiet moments..

It's gonna be Jurassic Park this time but I'll be seeing him again at the end of the month.

Anyone been looking into the potential episode 9 leaks?

I've actually been looking the sound of them if they are right.
Yeah.

SPOILER ALERT:

Princess Vespa cheats on Lonestar with Barf and gets pregnant. When the baby is born Lonestar sees the little mog and get's pissed and uses the Schwartz to burn Barf's balls off. Then he jumps in Eagle 5 and flies back to Vega and finds Yogurt and they get drunk and start arguing. Yogurt slices off Lonestar's limbs and then the Dark Helmet and the surviving Assholes come and rescue him. He becomes Dark Helmet's apprentice and learns the ways of evil because good is dumb. Then they get a new ship, Spaceball 2, and hunt down Barf and Princess Vespa who are living in Druidia in their castle. Lonestar uses the Schwartz to make Princess Vespa think Barf is Prince Valium and she runs away in disgust and falls out of a window and dies. Then Barf discovers he too has the Schwartz and battles Dark Helmet and Lonestar and quickly defeats Helmet. Barf is about to deliver the fatal blow to Lonestar but then is teleported onto the Starship Enterprise by Captain Kirk. Captain Kirk then explains to Barf that he has tinnitus and Barf is like "IDGAF" and tells Captain Kirk that tinnitus or not, that he is a terrible actor and that the original series movies are garbage and he wants the wasted hours of his life back from watching them. Captain Kirk then sends 100 of his Twitter bots to attack Barf but Barf uses the Schwartz and burns all their balls off and then kicks Captain Kirk into the teleporter and then throws a fly into it with him and teleports Kirk down to Druidia and he becomes morphed with the fly into a horrible half man half fly creature. Kirk is like "kill me" Lonestar is like "WTF" and chops him up with his lazer sword. Barf and Lonestar reunite and forgive each other and go back to the diner where the Alien's chest popper alien is and they get some space beer and sing Van Halen songs.

The End.

Probably the best one I've heard yet. Episode 9 is gonna be great.
