every. time. someone comes here and says they feel better everyone shits on it.

ive had two terrible days of tinnitus after being in a totally fine state for about 2 weeks and I cant begin to scratch the negativity here. I think this board needs a "misery" section instead of a "support" one at times.

God forbid someone tries to encourage you. QUICK! GET THE PITCHFORKS!

This shit is hard enough guys. lets not kill every positive messenger. Like it or not this is the best we get. It CAN improve.

Don't think so. Most people just tell us about their story. That's fine and useful. They are factual, they don't judge the people who didn't make the same progress yet, don't insult researchers and don't lie about T. They just hope someone might benefit from their story and improve. They encourage research and awareness too.

I don't see why we should shit on them. What the OP wrote here is completely different.

But again, I think the OP is not that ok with his T, contrary to what he's writing.

So I wouldn't judge him too quickly. We had a good laugh here but I kind of feel that he's in a bad place now.

I think this post needs putting to bed and should not be to score points or throw personal insults.
The main post was bad enough for members to vent their views against it and readers will take out of it what they will.

Behave .....Love glynis

Yes - actually Glynis you are correct so I deleted my last post. Probably don't need to put any more petrol on the fire! Just to say I have got better from Tinnitus so it's not true to say that I'm in a bad place. I know I said I wouldn't post again, but it's important to clear up that particular point.

So by saying I'm in a bad place Foncky - you're twisting my good news story into yet another hopeless bad news story. I think you've rather exposed yourself don't you think? You even have a skull picture as an Avatar! Foncky: you are an internet fear-merchant. Which is terribly ironic because Tinnitus is the sound of fear.
I always try to see the good side of people, even when they act like you did (and continue to do).
So, about you, I was thinking : "He can't possibly believe everything he's writing and we should not judge him too quickly. He may need support after all. I hope our angry answers were not too hard for him".

But you say you're definitely fine and your story is not a hopeless one. Great ! But you are. Hopeless. As a person. It's now confirmed. I still can't believe how you're maintaining your insulting lies. But nobody cares really. You did not help people by writing this post and you never replied to those who asked you to clarify certain ideas.

Pardon my avatar, it is an avatar of life and joy in case you didn't get it. But you really have a hard time with complex concepts like life, death, joy, sadness, fear, bravery, tinnitus and so on.

I can't help it : I feel sorry for you, not for those of us who still have T.

@Oscram ,

I think is is a good idea to post recovery stories. This gives hope and adds to the information about possible solutions. I believe you HAVE found a cure, or at least a PARTIAL cure for YOUR tinnitus that could be instructive for others. So, interestingly, I believe your testimony promotes the continued hope and search for a cure (or partial cure, in the form of significant improvement).

Where the problem arises is when you criticize, generalize tinnitus solutions, and overstep your "place," in addressing others.

Actually, I think you said some very useful things.

I believe you were trying to apply some "tough love" to help snap some folks out of their catastrophizing mindsets. This is needed at times, but tough love takes the foundation of a proper, strong relationship and credibility. For example, I see (for physical treatments) a number of veterans with PSTD as a comorbidity. Many of them need to have someone tell them to "stop allowing yourself to be the victim. Pull yourself up and make each day a new, better day." But, since psychology/counseling is not my specialty, they didn't ask, and I am not a veteran, I don't have the proper relationship or credibility to address this. ...and without that proper training or experience, I would likely give incorrect or untimely advice. Some times it is best to stick to the facts and leave the interpretation and application up to others.

How can you invent something that will cure a million different triggers?
There, I believe you have a good question. Like you, although perhaps for a different reason, I tend to NOT use the worked "cure." We don't CURE anything, we help the body work better so that it recovers. We are not smart enough to MAKE the body do anything without creating unwanted effects ("side-effect").

In my practice, I don't look for THE cure for lower back pain, fatigue, dizziness, diarrhea, tinnitus etc. I look for A SOLUTION...for THAT individual. EVERY condition has MANY possible causes, and many people have SEVERAL causes for their SINGLE set of symptoms. The goal is to find the most influential and most easily-influenced causes or triggers for THAT individual. So, although I have not found THE CURE for back pain, headache, diarrhea, or tinnitus, there is help to be had and better solutions to be found/developed so that more people can be helped more profoundly and more quickly. These assessments for the cause/triggers CAN be shared and MANY people can benefit.
