Sudafed for Clogged Ear? What Is the Best Decongestant?

What is the best decongestant to take for clogged ears?

I have a really bad cold/sinus that has me so congested that my ear is so full and painful feels like I'm under water.

Is Sudafed good for unclogging the ear?

I have a really bad cold and my ear has been super clogged because I have nasal congestion.

I asked the pharmacist what was best to take for this and he said Sudafed.

I asked him what were the side effects. He said it would keep me from sleeping because it will "excite me", as it will alert me.

So I know it is a high chance this will spike the hell out of my tinnitus, are there any other ways to unclog the ear?

Hello! I'm dealing with the same issue (clogged ears). I've tried the streamer once and didn't notice much. Strangely, I tried saline spray which was magical the first time, and lowered my tinnitus volume a LOT almost instantly. Unfortunately, I tried using that again, twice, and within an hour had huge spikes in tinnitus. Very strange but now I'm afraid of the saline (I am not sure whether it helped clogging but did help post nasal drip).

Anyway, my question is whether using the stream causes greater benefits over time. Or would the improvement pretty much happen, or not, with the first use?

I used saline the other day. It made my tinnitus twice as bad. I have a sinus infection. I don't know what to use at this point. Maybe Prednisone.
