Hi all,

Ive been doing quite well with managing my tinnitus lately

Until this morning, when a solid wooden door slammed shut right next to where I was sitting at the time.
It immediately hurt my ear, sending me into another spiral of panic.
It is a bit muffled (not sure as Im focusing on it now)
I have arranged a hearing test for next week. I have taken NAC, MAG, NICOTINAMIDE RIBOSIDE, RESVERATROL.
I will spend the rest of the day calming down my CNS.
Should I be concerned?

thanks

Hi Deb
If your nerves calm down you will more than likely be fine.

Best to you

Mark

I understand how such a sound would be very irritating, but, beyond a short term spike, I don't believe you'll have any damage. A door slam is not the same as a gun shot.

So you will be fine! You might take NAC for a few days, but don't worry about anything. I've been exposed to various brief loud sounds and never had any long term affect.

take care and relax! :)

Thankyou Mark and Jazz.

You were right. I did manage to have an audiogram. Probably an overkill but it has put my mind at ease. No further deterioration in my hearing. I spoke to Miriam Westcott (an audio in Australia specialises in TTTS, who feels confident the door slam was not sufficient to cause any damage...and that my symptoms are likely to be due to the TTT response. I tend to agree with her.

I threw every supplement I had in the cupboard at it this morning. I am not sure if I will continue. I think the only one I will continue with is the Nicotinamide riboside. Nac hasn't agreed with me in the past.

Thankyou again. :)

My ears get hit all the time too, my dog screamed in my ear today from rough housing. It is what it is I guess. No point in worrying, not going to help anything.

I had the same incident today? Did your spike subside? If so how long did it take?

How did the door slam shut?
