- 2x SSHL, maybe Meniere's in the right ear
Hello!
I have had two attacks of sudden sensorineural hearing loss in the low frequencies.
Because of that the doctors started suspecting Meniere's disease. I hope that is not the case as I am only 24 years old.
I have received Prednisolone in the hospital for the hearing loss, which practically did nothing, and a couple of days later, my hearing went back to 100%. Since then I have not had any major dips in my hearing, other than the occasional low tone frequency loss below 100 Hz, but not even 5 dB and it always goes back to normal.
I have a machine gun like clicking/fluttering in my ear which sounds like a hard drive defragmenting. The tinnitus is in the mid frequency range around 3.5 kHz-4 kHz which does not go with the Meniere's disease theory and it almost goes away when I drink coffee. Sadly, I have not received any helpful answers from ENTs yet and I have only been prescribed Betahistine.
Since the incident, I started trying to live my life more actively, so I started riding sport quads as a hobby and I might get into offroad racing. I only lived in preparation for the future and not in the moment and this knockback helped me see, that I should change that.
