The Addictive Nature of Tinnitus Talk...

I may share some photos, I'm a incredibly private person when it comes to anything to do with online, hence why I don't have the twitter, the Facebook, the Instagram etc

Incredibly private Jcb, but you are very sociable and good at banter - I've noticed.
I'll tell you what - just show me one childhood picture (between zero and 21) and I absolutely promise:

("Cross my heart - and hope to die
Terrapins tickle me if I lie......")

......not to tell the others
what you look like!

"Howzat?"

What a sweet picture of you in your pink dress. And look at your curly hair. Lovely.
I love the contrast with the second picture.
You seem so proud of the fish you have caught!

Your little dog is cute, too.

Thanks Tracy, this is fun. @Jazzer had a good idea, takes our mind to more enjoyable places. What do you think of the Pixie photo? I tried to straighten my hair...epic fail, lol.

@emmalee
Wow, a big change. Even though you didn't like it,
I still think you look adorable.
Thanks, Tracy. By the way, my little dog comes with a story. When we first got him we could not decide on a name. By the time we did, he would only answer to "Boy." Come here boy... So that was his name, Boy.

Haha well when you put it like that, how can I resist??
I'm an extremely social person irl, that's a part that's affected me the quite a bit with T... I'm very wary about doing the activities I used to. I'm only 4 months in and hopefully I will get back to a somewhat normal life, it's just step by step.
I love to laugh and try to find humour in almost everything, some may say a bit distasteful with certain things but laughter is the best medicine as they say.
I'm always wary of anything "online" had a issue a while back and it's made me super cautious.

@TracyJS thought you might relate to this one....My first pixie cut as a high-school girl....hated it, lol!

"Wow Ema - you were so beautiful - and you haven't changed a bit, by the way.
I am so pleased you, Tracy and Glynis have joined in this lovely, and perfectly harmless, little exercise.
So much of this website is taken up with an intense introspection of exact noises and trauma, symptoms, research, 'horizon watching' etc....

Every article on "T" mentions the importance of Distraction, doesn't it?
This General Chat section is so important.
It is the nearest we can come to a coffee shop meet up - now wouldn't that be lovely! - and a good old fashioned "Chin Wag."
On here we can chat about:

The weather
Pussycats
Art
Photography
Cartoons
Photos of cats
Nice walks
Our locality
Cats in our locality
Family weddings
What we're having for dinner
What our cat had for dinner
Hobbies....etc...and anything else.

(...er...did I think to mention cats?
Honestly - my memory...)

OR - we can talk about tinnitus,
but only if you absolutely insist.

"Distraction is where it's at folks."

Oh Ed - what a lovely 'grubby' little guy you were, and huge thanks for joining in.
I love pictures of little herberts filling their cake'oles.
.....er.....have your table manners improved
Ed by the way......just wondered mate.....?

Oh Jcb - you can trust us lot mate.
We're all good as gold on here.
Salt of the earth.
Butter wouldn't melt in our mouths.
Real cool. Lovely people.

(Sshhhh - I wonder if he'll fall for it.....Sshhh!)

@glynis

....so my attempt to persuade members to post some childhood photos went nowhere glynis.
I thought it might be a nice harmless little diversion from "T" - however??
I think only yourself, my lovely friend Tracy, and Ed 209 responded.

I had no photos of me with my twin brother Mick, so this evening he emailed me a couple.

Love all the early year photos everyone shared. Believe it or not I don't have any photos of childhood back then. Not one. Long story.

I have boxes and boxes of old family photos of Bobs childhood. Many from our Uncle Joe who passed away a few years ago. We have his flag that was given to me at his military funeral after a life time of service during his battles in WWII. So many hand written letters also. So much history.

Great photo!

I have some baby photos that gives me something to think about these days.. but I'm too shy to post it here. I hope for a next time I post it when I get confident about myself enough.

Don't be shy Victoria,
we're one big family remember....xx
