The Positivity Thread

Today it feels like I may have turned a corner in regard to my T. When I woke up it was much quieter in my head. I stayed completely motionless, almost afraid to move. My fear was that if I were to move, even a bit, the T would realize I was awake and say something like "Good morning, were you looking for me?"

Fast forward to now and it is still much quieter than it has been since early March. It is still there, but quieter. I also have a crackling sound in the ear, which comes and goes. The fullness is still there, but it too feels a smidge better.

So, today I am taking it easy. No walks, no yoga and yes, still no coffee. (so proud of myself for beating this)

The music is soft and I am trying to stay calm. Deep breathing helps to keep me this way.

If the T returns full force, at least I will have had this small victory.

Great news Emmalee. Moving in the right direction.

I wake up with my noise machine going and don't want to get out of bed either because when I move away my t will pop into reality.

Hears hoping you have more days like this :) it's a nice boost to your overall well being when you have days like these.
I don't think I could give up my coffee, the thought gives me shivers..... congratulations on quitting the stuff though

@Jcb

Thanks so much Jcb, it has been a boost, this is true. The coffee withdrawal was not fun, I have to admit, but I needed to win the war, lol! I have tried many times in the past but wasn't successful.

Don't get me wrong... it would be great if none of us had this fecking noise, but in the meantime it's good to take little victories like this and hopefully it will stay less intrusive for you and you'll have many more days like this. I wonder if quitting caffeine has helped with this?

I have wondered this, too.

My mornings always started with three cups of strong, black coffee. Throughout the day I would have a couple of cups of tea, unless I was out and about, then I would grab a coffee on the go. This just can't be good for a person. When the T struck the last thing I needed was to be more anxious, so the decision was made, I had no choice.

I have notice that I am less stressed and anxious about the T. My sleep has improved and I am a much nicer person to be around, or at least I was once the worst of the withdrawal was past. ~.~

@David Dubros

Dave, what about this weather? Beautiful sunshine! After all the rain yesterday, and the sun today, everything is getting so green.
I really wish things were a little brighter in my life.
My father went into hospitsl today because he was throwing up blood.
Hes 90. Im just waiting and trying to stay positive. Again it puts things in perspective.

Yes, it certainly does put things in perspective.:unsure:

I am so sorry to hear about your father.

That's a hug plus then, especially the improved sleep and less stressed. Do you drink green tea or any herbal teas?Coffee doesn't affect my T, it's strange what can affect one person that doesn't affect another.

@Jcb

Thanks for hugs, Jcb.

I was drinking two cups of organic white tea a day while I was weaning myself from the coffee. I took it down to one cup this past Monday and as of this morning, I have eliminated the tea altogether. I plan to get out tomorrow and buy some herbal teas, we have a David's Tea Shop nearby. I start every morning with a large mug of hot water to which I add some pineapple chunks and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. It is the habit of having something hot to drink upon wakening that is the hardest, so I substituted with the hot water.

Enjoy your morning Java, Jcb. I envy you, lol!

Haha I'm sorry, I won't rub it in :p
I love some lemon with a bit of honey in hot water, I drink that before my coffee funnily enough. There are a few really nice herbal teas, I do like green tea though... I find it so refreshing, also like peppermint, Hibiscus and Sage tea the latter is quite the acquired taste haha

I'm tough Jcb, no worries.;)

Hibiscus and Sage would be a no for me, lol! Peppermint is a big yes, though.

@David Dubros

David, may I ask, how is your dad doing today?
@emmalee
So he has an obstruction in his small intestine, it could be a tumour but not sure.
They're going to put an NG tube through his nose down into stomach to relieve pressure in his stomach. Admitting him under surgeons care to determine whether or not to operate, but said that wouldn't be a good solution, he wouldn't do well. So next two days will determine how this will pan out.
Thanks for asking.

~Even now, as broken as you may feel, you are still so strong. There's something to be said for how you hold yourself together and keep moving, even though you feel like shattering. Don't stop. This is your healing. It doesn't have to be pretty, or graceful. You just have to keep going ~

I'm feeling so happy that Winter is coming! It's getting pretty cold now.

We had a really long hot summer here in Australia, lots of Bushfires :( I didn't enjoy it.

Does anyone else love cold weather?

I like the cold weather Holly, not the frigid cold that we often get here in Canada, that can be a bit much. What I do enjoy is our Canadian fall weather, warm lazy days and cool crisp nights. Sweater weather is how I describe it, tall boots, jeans and a snuggly sweater.

I do! But I'm gearing up for 100+ temps soon as I live in Phoenix, AZ.

I'm only about 3 weeks in but had the best day today that I've had in a while. Managed to sleep in (I have a 5 year old so this is especially amazing lol), we played all day and had a visit with my parents. Managed to forget about it for a little bit too. And I downloaded a new sleep hypnosis app to try tonight. Feeling thankful.
