The worst place to go to for help:

The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Hospital Boston Massachusetts.
Go there and tell them you are considering ending it all and you will be told to go home and run a fan in the background. I went there yesterday.

I saw this world famous retinal specialist there about the disabling floaters in my left eye. He agreed that due to their size and position, they are technically a visual disability (his EXACT words). I asked if something could be done. He said yes, there is a surgery that could fix it. I asked if he could operate on me, given that they are so bad. He said no. Like... Seriously?

You're going to look someone dead in the eye, tell them they have a disability, and that there is something that could fix it, but then tell them you won't help them?

He operates on people with floaters caused by diabetes (which are usually less serious) but you won't help me based on your own personal opinion? 4 hour round trip and 300 dollars, totally wasted.

You should have seen the look in this assholes eyes. It's like I was making it up about how loud it was. I tried to tell him that the sound was changing with every bump in the road that the taxi went over on the $120.00 trip to Boston. And he says to go home and run a fan in the background. I tried to bump myself off two weeks ago in my garage but the temperature was too high and I woke up six hours later soaking wet because the emission controls in my car worked too well. I was never so angry to be alive. It's 88 degrees outside right now so I will have to wait until the temperature drops so the engine in my car will run richer and produce more monoxide. I also brought up my lawn mower and put it in the garage. I went to Walmart and bought a party time tank of helium last week but found out that there wasn't enough helium to do the job. I've fucking had it. Go here and see how Mass eye and ear brags about their "cutting edge tinnitus research: http://www.masseyeandear.org/lauer-tinnitus-research-center
And then go there and ask for help and see how you are treated.

I had a doctor clicking his fingers next to my ears saying, "Is the volume the same in both ears?"

I even told them that I was thinking of killing myself and they still told me to just go home and run a fan in the background. I am not making this up.

I just said it sounded like a fucking freight train running through my head!!!

They gave me a hearing test!!!!!!!!! I'm telling them the volume was so loud that I didn't think I could stand another second of it. Go home and run a fan in the background????? Hello!!!

They gave me a brochure for $3,000.00 hearing aids.

The whole ordeal cost me over $300.00.

Run a fan in the background. Jesus.

I have lost faith in all Drs and retards that promise to make my tinnitus better. I am all for making this shit end, believe me..when i say this. Tinnitus will not go away and mine is full blown insane tinnitus in both ears. Not some weak..little noise in one ear that some have. I have a full electric generator in both ears.

It's life and the tinnitus does lead (or can )to a littler bit of blood pressure as well. The T screws with the mind and does not let in be at peace. I like listening to water/shower sounds...they help..

Sorry bro, keep on fighting the fight...

It seems like Tinnitus sufferers are universally treated like unwanted street bums you can just shoo away the world over. That this is still happening in 2016 saddens me deeply. Barbaric and inhumane must be good choices of words to describe this practice.

We should get some human-rights activists in our corner. When some criminal is tortured with 24/7 sounds in his cell to keep him awake, you will hear them human-right activists complaining. What about us?

They better think about the millions of innocent Tinnitus sufferers around the world who have the same or worse sounds keeping them up at night and who are treated inhumanely when they dare try to complain about it to a doctor.

Those guys should get their priorities straight. Lots of Tinnitus sufferers are living inhumane lives.

I'd like to propose a close second to the Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne Australia, who "aren't really interested in seeing you unless your hearing is dropping in and out".

I would agree completely regarding MGH. It's criminal that they take your money for what (nothing) they provide. That they then boast about themselves is beyond the pale. Don't waste your time.

The op seemed pretty set on punching his own ticket so i assume wherever he is now, there is no tinnitus there.
