I hear that zinc deficiency may exasperate tinnitus. I never thought about it, but after reading on it, it makes sense.

Apparently one of the groups of people who lack Zinc the most are vegetarians, so I'm at pretty big risk for that. Aside from meat I also don't eat legumes or beans, and need to add more to my diet. We have them in my house so I will be eating beans and legumes for every dinner for the next two weeks.

I will update this to see if there has been improvement in my tinnitus.

Don't forget about B12. You may or may not be deficient in zinc, depending on your exact diet. Consider a basic daily multi pill. If it is a real deficiency then you want to to correct it right away, not slowly over time.

Theres some B12 pills here so that's good.

I too am a Veggie and thought it might be zinc or B12...sadly supplements of both made no difference. Worth a try though. Any damn thing is worth a shot...
Hope today is a better one for you all.
Peace

The best source of Zinc is to munch on a handful of Pumkin seeds, these are very rich in Zinc, forget pills they are just not the same potency. Best way to tell if your zinc deficient is simple, if your sperm is thick and sticky you are zinc deficient. Zinc thins the sperm during sex giving you a long wet ejaculation, splash. Check it out.

That makes sense. My waifu seems more sticky than rusty.

Okay I just bust a test-nut. It's definitely sticky. Will update on the viscosity of my seed in a week.

Luckily I'm not celebrating no-fap November.

If you really think you are Zinc deficient order a bottle of Liquid Zinc Assay by Premier Research Labs. If it tastes like water you are deficient. If it gives you a metallic taste you aren't. Either way it's a good zinc supplement and it's cheap. Worth a try. I bought it and it tasted like water and found I was quite deficient, I began taking Zinc supplements and now I can't stand the taste of it. The good news is I am no longer Zinc deficient. The bad news is that is had absolutely no effect on my tinnitus.

idk if I am going to order something online. My goal is to take high-zinc foods for a week. If it has an effect on my tinnitus, then it's a zinc problem that I will focus on.

Maybe it will help even if it doesn't make a big difference.
I think that's most likely. There was a success story here not too long ago of really helping someone; but I don't want to expect the best. I still think my main issue is ETD or TMJ. Probably TMJ because I can reduce it by 75% by shifting my jaw to the left.

Interesting mine gets worse if I move my jaw to the left. Do you remember what you did the day when it suddenly reduced/disappeared?

Well I had two of them. I don't know if this is relevent, but I remember both days I woke up facing the ceiling. My hearing felt really goof those days. I did the valsalva, and my hearing went back to "normal" and my tinnitus returned.

Damn valsava maneuver. It might be ETD from your posts. Have you tried beclometasone dipropionate? It would help with any sort of congestion in your E-tubes. Also does your T sound like there's someone vacuuming next door or does it just sound like a regular single frequency tone?

I do have a single frequency but I can 100% get rid of that by moving my jaw. The residual tinnitus kind of sounds like the vacuuming you mentioned.

I think you are spot on then. I had ETD from a cold and it sounded like the vacuum, if i move my jaw it gets worse, it turns into that single frequency.

Weird. I went to the ENT yesterday (finally). They said that my ears are healthy (That's good I guess). They didn't have a camera to see if I had ETD sadly, but I do have a "deviated septum" which I guess accounts for some of my stuffyness. They said I have Bruxism and a misaligned jaw, but I don't know if they're the professional for that. I'm going to get dental x-rays to see if that helps.

Nice hopefully you will get the relief you deserve. Don't wanna jynx it though(yeah im superstitious like that xD), it all points to what you think it is. Do you have any theories on how you might have misaligned your jaw?

Probably tons of dental work. I have three root canals on the misaligned side that goes into my ear. My mom had misaligned Jaw and had to wear a brace for TMJ, so it's probably Genetic.

If the solutions don't work which I think it will, you will atleast have an aligned jaw which is always better than having a "broken" jaw. Do you use sound enrichment at night?

I do notice an improvement when using it, the ringing sounds less intrusive and more bearable. Also sound enrichment might prevent your ringing from staying in your brain.

Didn't think I would see another one on this site. They're not very common outside of places like India lol. For the record I only don't eat meat because I didn't grow up eating meat, so I feel uncomfortable eating it.

I've been a vegetarian for 20 years. I am not a vegan. I eat dairy products. I am not sure if I could live without cheese.

I will have to look into zinc supplements. I've tried B12 and had no luck. No luck with magnesium, either. I might not have tried them as long as I should have.

Thanks for the info.

zinc deficiency can occur with copper excess

to be more precise, its more to do with how much 'bioavailable' copper you have as opposed to your whole blood zinc levels.

if you are zinc deficient, copper excessed, you will likely have magnesium and iron depletions too.

a hair tissue analysis would be the most accurate way of assessing this if you don't mind the expense and trouble of visiting a naturopath to get the request.

I use interclinical diagnostics. I think if you are American, there is ARL?

I think Dr Lawrence Wilson has a good grasp on the concept of copper toxicity, and he explains why chelation doesn't help to balance out all the metals adequately.

Probably more info than requested. I have read a lot around this issue since its one of my health challenges.
