However, the last storm hit I was turning in for the night, and was certainly glad to insert my earplugs, and call it a day. 1

Sitting and watching thunderstorms and listening to the rolling thunder as they approached. I don't wear hearing protection if I'm inside. If I'm outside I might. Unless it's a crack of lightning very near you it shouldn't be a problem. 1
