Hello! So I'm Lee, a 51-year-old male from the East Midlands area of England. My tinnitus started last month.
I first noticed a feeling in my left ear of it being full or something moving around in it, like a little ball of fur. Weird, I know! This was at a school play with a live band - we were in the third row.
A couple of days later, the ringing started. Still only in the left ear, but constant. I'd say it's not too loud, but I'm aware of it most of the time, unless I'm concentrating on something else, like work etc.
My ENT appointment waiting list is 10 months! I had a hearing test and it's in the normal range. I've seen that in some cases, tinnitus will disappear some 6-12 months later. Is that correct?
Does anyone resonate with my story or symptoms?
A concern I have is that my doctor is starting me on Ramipril for hypertension - I've not started taking it yet and have read on here that it can make tinnitus worse. However, if my tinnitus is caused by my hypertension (which I'm not sure one way or another if it is), taking the meds would alleviate the tinnitus, right?
