Hi Mayo,
When you get a cold you produce lots if mucous in your chest, ears, nose and throat and infection.
The extra mucous in your ears and virus cause problems with your auditory system and as well as external sound you hear inner sound called tinnitus.
It can go away when you are better and your ears are the last to settle down .
Steam inhalation can help you.
For a lot of people the tinnitus can go away and not cause any problem but for some people it might stay.
Try to stay calm as stress and anxiety can cause tinnitus also.
Tinnitus comes with lots of unwanted feelings and if you find your not coping well then your doctor can help with medication .

I really do hope my t is temporary. I can probably stand this for another 2 months before i start going crazy. It's very common that a cold will cause temporary T but I don't know how many get it permanently just from a cold.
Hi Mayo,
Your tinnitus as every chance of going away so try not to get worked up and scared.
Ears take the longest to settle after a cold so all you can do is wait and take a mucous linctus and let the cold run its course .
Keep an eye out for secondary infection in your ears like ear ache .
Doctors send people ENT but anyone with tinnitus has a good chance of it going under 6 months .
I would tell your parents as will be a great support for you .
keep posting for support any time and sending you a hug.... dont be scared....lots of love glynis
Check you're heamoglobin levels with a blood testAh, the relief was short lived.
The t is fairly quiet now (maybe it's loud) but it doesn't bother me that much anymore
What does bother me is that I'm starting to lose Balance when I stand up, my heads buzzing and I get dizzy. Does anyone know why this is?
Amazing trick, but for me, it only really works for a minute or two. But I figured why. When I use the method, I pay attention to my T to see if it's still there, and in a minute, it comes back (or gets louder). Really, I say that if I don't pay attention to my T, it won't bother me that much. When you get tired of hoping it goes away, try the "Back To Silence" method.
