Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine
Well first off let me say thank you for allowing me to join this forum. I am a US Navy veteran, and currently employed as a computer programmer.

I found this forum mostly out of desperation; I am completely terrified of what is happening to me. I am also finding it to be increasingly difficult to perform my job as it is incredibly difficult to concentrate now.

I received my Johnson & Johnson vaccine this past June. The evening of my vaccine I got terribly sick; this consisted of multiple soaking night-sweat episodes, very high fever, dizziness, and body aches etc. This was also the onset of an odd ringing in both of my ears.

It reminds me of 1000s of crickets and seems to "thump" with my pulse. Some days are better than others, but every night is a nightmare. Even if I am having a good day where the ringing is tolerable, something changes in my head when I lay down (the ringing gets terrifyingly loud). Another odd thing is the pulsing/throbbing sensation that accompanies it when I lay down (as well as some ear-popping when I swallow). I have difficulty breathing sometimes now and also get fairly dizzy during any physical activities. I was perfectly healthy before getting the shot, and I have never experience ear-ringing of any sort prior to getting vaccinated

It's now been almost 6 months with no improvement and life is getting worse and worse. I don't really know what to do. There is no transparency regarding vaccine safety, and I honestly feel like I have been duped. I just read an article that explained that it is most likely from either blood-clots or Meniere's disease, both of which seem like pretty awful things to have.

The worst part is that I have no one to talk to. I might as well tell my coworkers that I just saw Bigfoot riding a UFO. No one wants to hear about vaccine injuries, and no one wants to admit that they can happen (including the FDA).

I have never had ear problems like this before, and the ringing started that evening/early morning after getting vaccinated. How can anyone say that there is no correlation between the two?

I am currently awaiting a specialist/ENT appointment this January, but I have already seen my primary care doctor. Also, during one of the really difficult days I got really scared and visited the urgent care center at the VA. All that I got was a piece of paper saying that I have "tinnitus". However I think it is more than just tinnitus. I don't know how much longer I can take this really.

Is anyone out there experiencing anything like this from a vaccine? Did it ever improve?

Welcome to Tinnitus Talk. And thank you for your service. :)

So very sorry that you are experiencing tinnitus after receiving the J&J shot.

Hopefully it will go away??

There are other threads in this forum discussing tinnitus after getting the shot.

You can always talk to us here as we all understand very well what you are going through right now.

And, yes, sadly not many want to talk about the sad reality of vaccine injuries except those that have suffer from it.

Must be cognitive dissonance or whatever but it is almost like the expression: "trying to cover the sun with one finger." More than 12,000 people have reported to VAERS getting tinnitus after the shot and we know only 1 to 10% of cases get reported.

Try to rest, stay away from loud noises and stay calm.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi OnceUponaTime. Thanks for the links. Yeah I just started poking around there... sigh.

I hope you report your case to VAERS.

Please, don't get dishearten. There's always hope.
Your tinnitus may slowly go away with time.
Just take extra care of your ears from here on.

I'm sorry you're going through this, vaccine injuries are real and they get shrugged off very fast because you'll be labeled an anti vaxxer.

I'm 8 months post J&J and I wish I could tell you it objectively got better, maybe the real loud middle of the night wake up calls did calm down some.

If you are lying down, try lying flat and see if that helps. If not then incline yourself a bit. Protect your ears. My soft crickets turned into a buzzsaw after several months post shot.

I'm so sorry this happened to you  I developed tinnitus after getting infected with COVID-19. It's just not fair :banghead: It's possible that this situation could have been unavoidable for both both of us since both the real COVID-19 and the vaccine may have given us tinnitus either way but we can't know that. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: It's so frustrating though. I feel deeply let down by society because this whole thing was allowed to spread around internationally and wasn't contained or not enough cautions were in place in the first place.

Yeah I've been sleeping with a fan on, and also a waterfall noise on YouTube.

I reported it to VAERS already, but it didn't amount to anything.

Wrfortiscue, it's odd... I've noticed different things when I lie down. The longer I stay horizontal, the crickets do turn into more of a "flat" ring... like a feedback loop from a guitar amplifier. I've actually started using 2 pillows to help stay elevated, but I'm not sure if it's really helping.

Try sleeping in complete silence just to make sure white noise isn't causing distortions or reactivity. For some reason at night and in silence mine can be forgiving, that is if I'm not having an actual noise spike. Also in complete silence I get roaring internal noise lol.

Also, your noises may change a lot in the beginning. Don't fret.

Thanks for the words of advice Wrfortiscue. Having a good day today where the ringing is less obvious and the pressure in my head has gone down. Looking forward to the ENT appointment and hoping to get some answers. I am really hoping it's not Meniere's.

I have had tinnitus since around 2015.

The first years were horrendous. I many times contemplated ending it all. However 4 or 5 years in it diminished considerably.

Unfortunately I took the Pfizer jab about 2 weeks ago. I had avoided vaccination for as long as I could but the introduction of the vaccine passport in this part of the UK made me think it was best to take it.

I had no initial reaction to the vaccine barring a sore arm.

However, over the past week or so tinnitus has returned with a vengeance. I am now experiencing loudness levels similar to the worst I ever had in the early years. I have a very loud high pitched squeal accompanied by a loud pulsating hum. Sleep is proving very difficult. Being back to square one again is terribly depressing. However, I have dealt with it before. I found walking by the sea helpful as well as taking turmeric. I also found Phenergen helped me sleep. As for taking any more vaccines or booster shots, they will have to drag me in kicking and screaming.

Oh damn I wasn't sure if it was just J&J that was causing this... I didn't realize Pfizer as well. Yeah something about this whole situation smells rotten. I am not getting another jab either... too scared of what will happen next after all of this ear trauma.

The funny thing is that I just met an Indian guy at work that is also suffering from the ringing since his vaccine. I just wrote the FDA a sincere email. They need to warn people about this in my opinion. I am very curious as to why some countries such as Japan are actually being more transparent with their people.

Oh that is good to hear. I have some days that are better than others... But I really want it to stop ringing when lying horizontally so I can sleep.

How long did it take for yours to get better?

Out of curiosity: did any one of you who got tinnitus from the vaccine test your body for an nitrosative stress?

Nitrosative stress is a typical cause of all these issues and is induced by a lot of substances, as well as psychological stress, etc.
