Tinnitus and Masturbation

Haha, well music helps to suppress it. Usually when I am in a Skype call with someone, I am not bothered by it. The only thing is. I am scared to go to sleep. That is the only time I MUST hear it.

Quick question: am I the only one that, when I am having an extended conversation, my jaw starts to get very tired and my ears begin to ring like crazy?

Haha, I mean, of my case of Tinnitus were due to masturbation. Would it be irreversible, but it seems no one here seems to accept the fact that could even exist due to the action.
Since it is obvious from your postings that you have no intention whatsoever of giving up something that has become such a vital part of your existence, what difference does it make?

I do. I do not know how you were able infer that from my posts, but I am willing to try everything to rid myself of this curse. I have not masturbated in three days. It is hard, but I am hoping something will change.

I am very scared and very worried about this. I want it to go away and trying every outlet that can be a cause is hope for me.

Hmm, well. Then should I ATTEMPT to abstain from the action to see the result? I have noticed that long hours without it make my T go down tremendously. Usually when I wake up, the T is essentially nonexistent.
I'd say that if you literally can't stop masturbating for, like, a week, then you probably have more serious problems than tinnitus. And I say this as someone who has spanked a lot of monkeys in my day.
And so you think it caused your T?
Seriously forget that, you are worrying for nothing.
I'm not nearly so dismissive. I'd say, go do some research into how the serotonin and dopamine transport systems and HP axis are thought to be involved in tinnitus signal propagation, and also take a look at how orgasm affects those same systems... these are very interesting topics.

I can stop. It is very easy. I have been abstaining for three days now. The only problem is: is this even a plausible situation? I was just reading something on the Internet that claimed this. I am going to believe it to be true until I have the two - four weeks are up. (Yes, this is ignorance, but it gives me hope, so I do not care).

I'd say that if you stop jerking off and your ringing stops, and then you start it again and your ringing comes back, then you have your answer and you don't need to worry at all about what other people think...

Haha, I wanted more than just my opinion on the subject matter. If I keep all my thoughts to myself, it can lead to unnecessary anxiety.

I am SO tempted to address that last sentence ...

Anyway, if your tinnitus has not appreciably improved now that you have stopped masturbating for three days, then in my opinion the chance that it will appreciably improve if you stop for three months is miniscule.

You may be looking at this all wrong. Have you had a complete ENT evaluation? If so, then perhaps it's time to take a serious look at how a sound (yes, tinnitus is a sound) can make you so scared and so worried. Maybe CBT would be a good option for you in that regard.

And, I cannot help it. A mix of anxiety and OCD makes me prone to worrying about every little fine detail until proven otherwise.

Do you think that's why you do that? Like how some people obsessively wash their hands, you obsessively spank it? Because if you're sexually exhausted then wouldn't that make it so you don't have the desire to?

No. I know the difference between natural desires and obsessive desires.

I am having a hard time thinking about how to explain this. But, I am not obsessed with masturbation. It is pleasure and I like pleasure, just as I like drinking Dr.Pepper. Nothing out of the ordinary.

But, seriously, is no one here going to take it seriously?

What gives you the impression that we're not taking you seriously?...:dunno:

Don't think that just because we inject a little humor into the thread. Here's a joke from the female side of the subject:

Q: How does a woman know that she's had a really great orgasm?

A: When it wakes her husband up.

LOLOLOL! Well, I have realized that masturbation is a not the cause and it is more than likely a made up concept. TMJ is my cause. ;)

I strangely just came across a website while researching that talks about symptoms caused by lack of zinc. And it lists drinking, stress and the M word as causes for zinc loss.
