Tinnitus Got Worse After Bang to Head (Walked Into a Branch)

Do you think this is more likely a temporary flare-up or permanent worsening?

  • More likely just a temporary flare-up

  • More likely a permanent worsening

  • Nobody can tell either way

Cause of Tinnitus
Bang to the head
I have tinnitus but have managed it well. That was until I walked into a branch and banged my head causing my tinnitus to get much worse.

Is this likely to be a flare up or a new permanent louder tinnitus?

It's probably just a temporary flare-up. It's discombobulating to get bashed in the head like that, and your stress hormones are probably up. Just saw a video by a spine surgeon who had tinnitus attenuate after finding a good intervention for stress. The name of the channel is David Hanscom, on YouTube, and the video is "Creating a safe haven." Hope you get some relief soon! :huganimation:

Hi there, did your tinnitus spike decrease?

The same thing happened to me last night, I banged my head against a cupboard and have a massive spike.

Many thanks,
