Sorry for posting so many threads, but I think my T has gotten worse after I drank some cola. When I finished drinking I noticed that my T was louder than before. Now I can even hear it when I'm outside which I couldn't before. It sounds like many high pitched beeps that come randomly. And it is so annoying. Before I thought: My T is nothing compared to what others have, I can deal and live with that easily. But now I am not so sure. I feel hopeless and I can't take it anymore :(

Coke has a lot of caffeine, sugar and artificial flavors, sweeteners and coloring in it. None of those things are especially good for you, it may be that your body is pretty sensitive right now. It did not harm you, but it might take a minute for your body to excrete all that stuff.

I have given up pretty much all kinds of soda, not because of anything to do with tinnitus per se, but because they are just not good for you at all.

I normally only drink soda in weekends, but I did it today because we were going to a restaurant. I really hate that sound and it is still there :(

This spike is most likely just temporary. It usually is when it's caused by something that we either eat or drink. Some people get spikes from caffeine, sugar, chocolate etc. It's useful to take note of what foods or beverages are spike triggers. Once you know what they are you can reduce the amount of spikes you experience by either not consuming them any more or significantly reducing your consumption of them.
This spike will pass.

I hope you're right. I think I will do that. I won't make my T worse.

Coffe, black tealcohol and coke are always said to aggravate T, temporarily I guess. Same with salt. All this reduces the blood flow in blood vessels or diminishes the vessels themselvesor sth like this , so once you drink a glass or two of water it should pass.

It was just temporary and my T is now back to normal. But thanks for replying! :)

You're welcome. I'm a newbie mysemf. For first 2 months or so I didn't drink coffee, but now I do cause I tried a few times and I didn't notice any influence on T. However lately I had a spike and I wonder if it wasn't after a packet of salty pistaches I ate that day so now I'm afraid of salt.
