Show Your Support For Tinnitus Researchers

One of the reasons why certain medical conditions take a long time to understand, research, and cure is the lack of a governing body that coordinates the work among researchers on a global level. The tinnitus community, however, is fortunate to have an organization like The Tinnitus Research Initiative which steps into the role of hosting major yearly conferences with many of the world's leading tinnitus researchers attending. Below is the "group photo" of such an event from the most recent 9th TRI conference in June this year.

At present, and quite surprisingly, this update has just a handful of ratings on Facebook. Those who paid attention to the update will perhaps notice the name Prof. Deborah Hall (lead academic collaborator on the AUT00063 trial). For a major announcement such as this (featuring a joint TRI and TINNET conference), and provided by top level researchers from within the tinnitus community, it is difficult to understand the lack of support from the 100,000 people who visit TinnitusTalk every month. Consider showing your support.

A couple of days the ago, an update concerning TRI's 10th conference was shared by TinnitusTalk (see update below). The update has so far received just five ratings. In the interest of promoting science and research, it would be enormously helpful if both members and visitors of this forum would be willing to rate/share/comment on the update. It's just one click we are talking about!



In addition, the conference by TRI will also feature the TINNET initiative. This is another major initiative with five work groups led by top level researchers with the aim to further understand areas of tinnitus research such as sub-types and neuro-imaging of tinnitus within the brain.

Not long ago, we saw the Autifony QUIET-1 study be terminated based on an interim assessment. This is an indicator that a lot more research still needs to be done. Therefore: please rate/share/comment on the update below. Thank you.

On a more positive note, Auris Medical recently made an announcement regarding their 2nd generation tinnitus compound. That update - with a brief commentary by Mr. Meyer - can also be found on the FB-page of TinnitusTalk:
