Tinnitus Week 2020: Help JimH Fly Us to Vancouver

Donated, shared the petition and will make a video up later today :)

As long as YouTube doesn't demonetize + limit the video (both will mean less people will see it recommended in their sub boxes and recommended on the platform) then we should get a steady 2K+ views within 30 or so hours. Hopefully we can hit 2,500 petition signings this hour!

Does it help to have other Tinnitus Talk members attend the conference as well?
Hi, yes it does! We already know of a few members who live in the Vancouver area who told us they want to join and help out. It would be nice to have a little team there to share the workload and get as much reporting done as possible.

The restriction though is that we need extra free tickets for the conference. TRI has promised us at least one free entry. The full conference fee is quite steep, so I told them we would like more free ticketes, but we have to see...

Anyone wanting to attend can PM me and Markku directly so we can coordinate.

I just hope those going and representing us won't say they have found ways to cope and live with tinnitus (even if that's true, it defeats the purpose) happily ever after!

Please have faith in your fellow forum members Valeri, we're all pushing for a cure!

A big "Thank You" to everyone who has donated so far!... (y)

We're now at $1564 after 38 donations. There's still a few days left. Hopefully, others will decide to donate as well.

Let's get that last $900!

They have the flight not the hostel ! You will really let your tinnitus's brothers and sisters sleeping outside in vancouver ?!

@jimH just went above and beyond; he made another $200 donation on top of the $500 already given.

It's our ultimate privilege to have a member like him. I don't really have words to express how thankful we are, it's just amazingly motivating for me and @Hazel to have this level of support.

I want to also thank every one of you who have donated, including @Starthrower who was the "grandmother" of this type of fundraising last year.

Finally, a person who struggles financially yet is willing to give $5, it's the kind of gesture that we never forget.

I would also like to acknowledge @Starthrower and give Jen the credit for giving me the idea. Quite frankly, I never would have thought of it on my own. Perhaps, next year, someone else who can afford to, will do the same.

I pretty much said the same thing regarding those who donated even though they financially have very little. In my eyes their donations were generous too!

Did you make the video? If so, please share the link.
Sadly it performed 4x worse than any video I have recently posted... but it got some signatures. I chipped in $8 for Change.org so it can hit a potential of 100 people. Maybe a few will sign. Worth it to try 1x.

It's okay, I'll post the video on a few subreddits and it will at least get 1,500 views soon. But at least we're 800 signatures away from 10,000 signatures!!!

Donated.

Hazel if you have time to do some sight seeing around Vancouver please PM me. I will take you around the scenic spots. I live in a suburb of Vancouver. I would love to meet up.

Billie

Donated. I hope that someone can get the research into this moved along a lot more than where things are right now. The symphony in my ears really needs to be reduced... And so far, regular doctors are of no help at all right now.
