Cause of Tinnitus
Loud noise from head set ear phones
Hi I am Andrew 59 years young. I have Tinnitus and hearing loss with ear pain. It started at work from using head phones taking calls. The Tinnitus and ear pain got worse with sound I don't like to drive or run water for vary long I use ear plugs when driving but it hurts when the ear plug are in my ears. I was using hearing aids with special sound programs to help with the Tinnitus it was working but had to stop as ear pain got worse.
Any one have a lot of ear pain from sound.

Welcome to the forum. Ear pain usually is a result of inner ear infection. But if you have pain from sound, it may be due to hyperacusis. Have you got checked by an ENT? We do have a support forum for hyperacusis and ear pain. You can post over there so others with similar issue can advise you. Take care. God bless.

Thank you yes I have been to an ENT and an Audiologist He told me I have Auditory recruitment

Recruitment is a common characteristic of hearing losses that result from damage to the sensory cells of the cochlea. Such sensory hearing losses are the most common type. They result from such causes as noise exposure, treatment with certain drugs, and advancing age (a condition called Presbycusis)

No it has not got any better I have more hearing loss and my ears hurt every time I drive I use foam ear plugs when I drive but it hurts to have the ear plugs in. When I am done driving every little noise is so load I have no idea what to do. Dose any one know how to stop ear pain from noise.

Better to drive With ear muffs
Peltor is the best brand

Thank you but it is illegal in the US California to drive with over the ear sound protection. I was told it is a $500 fine.

you have hyperacusis with pain also called Noxacusis.

Sorry about your condition and I'll be outright honest a treatment for this in particular condition doesn't look to promising.
