Transdermal Scopolamine Patches Give Me Relief

I probably shouldn't say very much until it's over and done with, but if it seems to accomplish anything I'll definitely be shouting from the rooftops in April. That seems like quite a long shot, though.

Good luck whatever it is! Hope it works and it helps many!
Marry Christmas!

@valeri, I'd like to be in Australia right now with the warm weather and ocean.:)

Yeah, hot and humid is hard to take. I'd like to see and hear the ocean waves again though. Last seen the ocean in 2009 I believe in Florida. Drove down that year as I was a bit scared of flying and didn't have to rent a car that way. At least gas is cheap now here...about $1.75/gallon. About a 31 hour drive to southern FL I think.

There is no indication under your avatar as to the presumed cause of your tinnitus. Could you tell us a bit more what you think brought it on, as well as its usual intensity?

I'm thinking maybe scopolamine's effectiveness is related to cause of tinnitus. It may not be, but it's something to consider.

I'm particularly interesed in linearb's reaction to the scop, as I cannot afford to see a doctor and thus cannot get a prescription. This means eBay, like Obi-Wan Kanobi, is my only hope. :)

Some combination of noise exposure, stress and drug trauma brought on my T. Intensity is sort of hard to gauge; I can always hear it, loud and high above the noises of the world, and if I am not diligent about my habits and fall into a negative space emotionally, then the tinnitus sort of consumes all of reality and becomes physically painful -- and yet I have long stretches of weeks/months where I barely think about it. During those periods of time I also tend to be free of a host of other ailments, physical and psychological. This suggests a cyclical process of some kind, but I haven't really pinned it down...

Thanks for the feedback. Interesting that you mention stress; it seems to be a common contributor.

Mine cycles unpredictably irrespective of anything going on. If it's 8 or 9 out of 10 on a day when I can't seem to get a grip on my despair, my emotional state does make it worse. I don't mean the volume goes up from where it's at; I mean that I'm just wiped out from dealing with it and so my ability to cope is worn very thin, which tends to make me miserable and/or extremely pessimistic.

I'm sorry you have to deal with all those other afflictions. I do count my blessings that my health is otherwise quite good, except for the effects of seldom getting a full night's sleep.

I wore 3 Scopoderm patches over several days.
Zero Effect on my T. Though I have to add - I have the worst T on earth, so I did not expect this to help or by potent enough to block this torture.

The only thing that still "works" is 400mg of trobalt at once.
It lowers the multiple storm of 10 Sounds of about 90db to like 3/10....but it only last some minutes. And it does not work everytime.

Taking it before sleep or I cant fall asleep anymore since rTMS destroyed me even more.

Too bad, all the "therapies" out there are band-aids or waste of money. I tried everything but HIFU and im still worse than ever.

Updates on this Scopolamine drug.

Got my Scop patches in the mail today and tried one on my bad ear side.
After a few hours no changes, T is still the same ..wast of time & money I though ..but I had a look on the photo and it appears that I placed it in the wrong place, on the bone behind the ear.

So I put another one like the photo says on the flesh/soft place above the nerves/muscles in the side of the neck just after the skull and to my surprise about 30 mi later it does seem that my T has decreased by a good 50%

An hour later I can still hear it but now it has turned into a faint buzz..TV sound and softer than usual. Usually I would constantly use masking noise just to forget it but now in total silence no need for masking the T is rather low and not so bothersome...Scop does bring some relief indeed. Not a cure but immediate relief to a degree.

Its cheap, easy to get and fairly safe so worth a try - if you do happen to respond well like some percentage of the people in the past (I read all the old posts on those internet groups from 2000) all you have to do is stick one and leave it there for 3 days. Showering does not remove it it sticks pretty well.
Easier than popping pills all day.
No side effects at all so far.

i got mines from ebay I'm not in the US
my T comes from noise damage only - like the original poster so maybe that's why it worked..not sure if this will work for other cases.

yes sent from Viet Nam but those are made in Taiwan for this market..not made Viet Nam, so safety is no issue. They look like really well made medicine packs in proper alu pouches factory printed etc..so it's the real deal.

I'm sure those are dirt cheap locally hence the ebay sellers.
shipping was fast no issue.

In the US you can buy the Swiss made ones so why not try those too ?

Again, not sure if this works for non-acoustic trauma T and don't expect your T to disapear, it will only decrease to a bareble level

yes those are the one i got
